2018 jl wrangler rubicon - purchased the jeep awhile back. It was included on the preowned jeep, yes I’ve used it a few times. For both myself and others.

I also used it to pull some small stumps out of the ground. But it was actually rope from walmart tied to my trailer hitch. But if I had a winch on my vehicle, I definitely would have used it for that.

What does that mean?

A warn m12 is $2,500 and you aren't mounting it for less than $500.

I use mine mostly to pull my son out at Catahoula Lake and occasionally one of my buddies.

I have one. Used it to pull bushes and stumps out of the ground.

Winches aren’t made for pulling stumps and pulling bigger vehicles out of mud with smaller vehicles.

Anyone ever heard of a kinetic energy recovery rope? Man that is the shite. I keep a tow rope, a kinetic recovery rope, and a come along in my truck. All used for different purposes.

A viper 12k can be had for 500 if you just make motoalliance an offer on ebay. The one on the tractor is probably 15 years old at this point and has lifted a crap ton of trees.

As for mounts, I always just go with a heavy plate bumper. Usually 800-1200.

My problem with warn is their warranty is a joke.

U can get a lot of good winches under $1k.

I hear a lot of good stuff about Warrior. Warn used to be the gold standard but not so much now a days. Only like one two models are made in the US. Rest are made with global sourced parts and assembled in US and the lower lines are made in china.

I have a 4R Overland Build with a Smitybuilt H2O 12K winch. Use it often to clear cut logs on the trail, unstuck meself and others from the mud or whatever. Bogged down in the sand a few weeks ago. Could have thrown down the MaxTrax and crawled out but it was quicker to just to whip out the tree strap and winch out. Why do you ask?

Have one on my ranch car. I use it mostly to pull up dead cedar after we nuke it and to yank the kids truck out when they get it stuck which is more often than you would think since it’s almost a desert.

I invested a little more in a 16,500 lb Warn and it is worth the money when you get something as heavy as a diesel F-250 stuck it takes a lot to pull that heavy truck free.

Don’t have it on the truck most of the time. Do put it on when elk hunting and up in Wyoming in the winter. Great to use if you get stuck in the snow. Just hook to a tree and pull yourself back on the road.

May have to pull front straight over, then do the same in the back.
