I'll be working. I could use a floating holiday but I will save that for another day.

I don’t take it off, but I fly my American Flags in honor of every day dedicated to individual freedom.

Same here - all the maintenance hands and engineers will be off, which would make for an easy weekend if it was going to be freezing cold.

Back in the day, the great state of mississippi made you choose on your time matrix that had to be submitted for your hours whether you were observing MLK Jr. day or Robert E. Lee day.

When I was in the private sector, it was one of a couple "floating" holidays that we could take off if we wanted to, but I never did.
I would take it off sometimes when I was Private Sector because it was often a good time to take the day with the kids (since there was no school). Three day weekends are nice.

Same withmy old job...now I work for the government and it's still shocking to get so many days off.

Same here. But usually end up working most of the day anyway because my O&G clients are not off.

My company is dogshit about giving us holidays off and even we have it off
Posted on 1/17/25 at 12:19 pm to Stinger_1066
I’m going to do two things regardless, but I have it off. That said I would take it off over Inauguration Day.

My family eats Popeyes, Martin Luther King Cake, drinks several 40s, and has a family basketball game

I'm taking inauguration day off. just so happens its a company holiday this year
Posted on 1/17/25 at 12:23 pm to Thracken13
I'm taking the day off to watch the inauguration.
Those celebrating MLK Day are usually jobless so they don't need it off.

Spoken like a true racist. Are you suggesting for all federal holidays to go away?
