Seems to be a lost skill among the late millenial/Gen Z groups.
Both of my cars have 3 pedals and I intend to hang on to them as long as I can. It can get annoying in ATL traffic and on hills (of which there are also a lot in ATL), but the open road performance is totally worth it.

I learned how to drive with my dad's Mazda 626, which was a stick.
Sticks these days are basically millennial/gen z anti-theft devices.

It's a lost skill because there are so few around, so it's not really needed.
I learned on a manual, but even then (almost 30 years ago), they were more the exception than the rule.

This sounds like a double entendre bait thread. I am not touching your monkey pox stick

I love my stick sports car but stick is wayyy overhyped if you're car is simply an a to b appliance.
Enthusiasts go nuts whenever X model drops their stick option but the take rate on the standard is like 5% or less.

My wife knows how to ride it but she can’t drive it very well.

I wish I had my 88 F150 that had a five speed in the floor again!!!
My first truck was a 68 chevy with three on the tree and a single barrel straight 6.
You had to pay extra to get an automatic, an conditioner or a radio back in the day. The chevy had no AC and I put a Kmart radio in it--AM only I think.

I can but it's a lot easier to load a bowl with an automatic.

I can operate and drive a vehicle equipped with a manual transmission.

I took my drivers test in a manual.
Even back in the 80's the DMV dude was surprised.
