How many of you baws got a job not affiliated w/ your degree?

BS FIN, MBA. Worked in IT, then agribusiness. Technically it's related to my field, but I'm not doing anything I couldn't have learned on the job without the degrees. In fact I probably could have learned it better and more efficiently on the job. I did have a good time in college, though.

I sort of built my job at my current employer out of my job I was hired for, which related to my degree.
I liked it for a while, but we have grown to 10 employees, and I'm not having fun with it anymore.

I know a lawyer who is now a welder and makes more money then he did as a lawyer

I’ve never had a job affiliated with my degree.
Learning curve was nill. I just showed up early, stayed late, worked every time I was asked to and was enthusiastic. Seems to have paid off so far.

Statistically (no link), most people wind up with jobs that aren’t affiliated with what they majored in in college... Careers, like life, dont go in a straight line, they typically zig and zag.. Me personally, i majored in Communications (dont ask, i thought i might go to law school)— but now i work in Medical sales... Unless you are doing something highly specialized (medicine, law, engineering), career success is mostly about your hustle.
