I go every Sunday. Have done that for decades. Probably can count on one hand the number of times I've missed Church (due to illness) on Sunday. I don't consider myself perfect....or believe I'm better than those who don't go. I'm flawed. I've lived long enough and engaged in the practice of social ministry (doing what Jesus told me to do - feeding the hungry, helping the poor) and I've seen and experienced things that can only be explained within the context of the supernatural. Once I was nanoseconds from eternity (as in death). What happened to me there in that place....suspended between the here and there changed me forever. I will only say, there is a God, and He does love us very very much. He does NOT want anyone to be lost. But He does demand we acknowledge Him before men. That's the reason we go to Church. By our presence there we are witnessing our faith and the reality of His existence. It's that simple.
Once my wife said to me, "We should write a book about our experiences in the spiritual life". I hesitated and said, "don't think so. Our story would only get lost in the noise". Unfortunately, many people only want instant gratification and our story would only tickle their ears for a brief second.
Maybe some of you out there may acuse me right now of doing exactly that...attempting to tell my story. Maybe so. But only to try to convince you that the God that some of you curse and deny, is not the God that I have encountered in my life. He is merciful and kind and wants to get personal with each one of us. But you must make a choice....either Him or the world.
I pray a lot, since prayer is a personal response to God's presence.
Think about it.

I go to Mass every Sunday. Sometimes to a different Church for certain events, but as long as it's Roman Catholic, I'm good.
