This is the OT, so exaggerate away. But seriously, do the numbers below seem right for your state?

I was kinda surprised to see that 18% of Tennesseans make 100k+. But 30% of Louisianians making less than 25k seems right.

Texas, in the 12%, but $150k household isn't something to brag about. They need some tiers above that for the OT.

I don't believe that 20% of Louisianians make 100K or more.

Eta: missed that it was household, that's a lot more realistic.

Outside of the cities in Texas, it's one of the cheapest places in the country to live. Of course most of the population is centered in the metro, but if you're pulling 150k in a place like Lubbock or a small town you'd be doing just fine.

At first I looked at this with my own salary and was happy and then realized it was household income and it makes me feel pretty sad for a large majority. Wife found a Tax return from when we first got married. How we lived on that income is astounding.

But you'd be in Lubbock.

it amazes me how so many families live off <50k. that seems miserable.

Louisiana fares better than most other Southern states thanks to the petrochemical industry. Yet Governor Honor Code doesn’t want any more petrochemical jobs here, he would just as soon they all go to Texas.

This is the OT. That graphic outlines mostly peasant money.

especially with the amount of single moms with multiple kids making almost nothing. It’s amazing how some people get by

That’s because you have worked for what you have and have strived to better yourself.

31.4 % in MS make less than 25k... honestly surprised that number isn’t higher..

I’d like to see a bracket even lower ... like 10-15k in MS and see just how much poverty there really is .

Mississippi is a poor state. Low numbers look about right. Upper numbers may be off a bit. Our household income is $147k, about the 6%. No OT baller but we do well around our neck of the woods. I'm satisfied.
