Advil (ibuprofen) should be only used for inflammation and not more than 800mg a day and stop once not needed.
Tylenol (acetaminophen) should be taken for pain.
Ibuprofen will eat your kidneys and liver as well as your stomach and bladder.

i don't think you can OD on it, but long term use tends to blow your stomach lining

Just called in a prescription for indomethacin. Hopefully that helps a little bit.
You should never take two different NSAIDs on the same day without knowing what you are doing. Adding indomethacin to the amount of ibuprofen you've already has is not exactly safe. Make sure whoever called it out for you undsrstands the amount of ibuprofen you have taken today.

I've been taking on average about 1400mg a day for the last 5 years

Did you walk the entire time?

Couldn't really put any weight on the left foot so it was hard to run ... I limped most of the way ... Hopped on one leg a little and walked the rest

You can bump 1400 but don't do that often at all. 800 is script strength.
Keep in mind, those sort of pain killers are not meant to be used long term, and if you do use them long term there will be adverse consequences. Liver damage for starters.

How would I know if I have liver damage? Would I show or feel any signs?
Posted on 11/6/16 at 2:10 pm to threeputt
When things start getting Jaundiced that's a start. Not to mention the potential for kidney and stomach damage. Don't do the stuff long term. ONLY when you need it.

3.2 grams have been taken for over 20 years by Cystic Fibrosis patients without incidence (as long as your stomach can take it).

This is so wrong. Ibuprofen liver toxicity is very rare.

You don't die it just kills your liver.

Let me first say, I genuinely admire you for running a 5k at that weight. That's not a sarcastic, OT shot at you, I do mean that.
But if you're taking that many Advil/ibuprofen that consistently, and weigh what you do, perhaps a life change is in order.

Tell him you took 4,000mg of ibuprofen.
