If you're taking that much Ibuprofen try switching to a new anti-inflammatory. Either Mobic (Meloxicam) or Aleve (Naproxen). I want to say that your body builds up tolerance making you take more for the same effect.

Eta: Okay, so apparently I'm completely wrong. You don't build up tolerance. I just mention it because I used to take ibuprofen daily during my rugby playing days. I switched NSAIDs and found Meloxicam to be more effective for me.

Up to 800mg every four hours for the first 24 hours, 800 mg every 6 hours till the pain/inflammation is gone.

If ongoing, seek medical attention.

I took three doses of 800 mg Ibuprofen per day after I had surgery on my jaw.

Lots of stomach aches, though.

You should just switch to hitting a bowl in the morning. It's safer, healthier, and you'd be much cooler if you did

2400mg in a 24 hour period is what most physicians consider the maximum daily dose. They typically prescribe it as 800mg tid or 1200mg bid, usually the former. That's generally just for short term use.

If you took 4000mg in a short time frame, as you said, it's dangerous. Among stomach discomfort, excess ibuprofin can potentially cause kidney failure and an increased risk of stroke.

I would discontinue use and drink plenty of water, and contact your physician about an alternative.

Sort of Spinoff but I have chronic headaches my whole life and pretty much take about 1000mg Advil and 500mg Tylenol daily or at least every other day. Should I be getting my affairs in order?

I've seen an addict take 30 10/650 hydros in one day before. That's 19,500mg of Tylenol in one day. That fricker is still here.

Just called in a prescription for indomethacin. Hopefully that helps a little bit.

I usually take 4-6 Advil liquid jells a day.
