If she's a widow, no limit. You know she's marriage material because she's already been vetted.

Never married with multiple baby daddies, or divorced, is a red flag even with only 2.

If you’re a single guy with no kids of your own I don’t understand how you would ever fall for a girl that has kids. There’s waaaay too many women out there with zero kids that it just makes no sense to go after someone with that kind of baggage. Are you marrying someone that brings along a million dollars in credit card debt too?

It depends on the mom.

I dated a single mom for about 1.5 years. I didn't meet her kids until we had been dating for about 6 months. She wasn't trying to leech money off of me since she had a great career established. I didn't mind it at all in her case. Her kids weren't dickheads.

I hooked up with a different SM a few times and out of the blue she called me to try and get me to pick her kid up from school. Hell no.

No matter. You are never going to be her priority.

You act like the concept of step-kids is something new and wholly unworkable.

It’s true that very young children take a tremendous amount of time and effort. Women with young children probably should not be dating. Dating takes effort and time.

I wouldn’t go on Tinder dates with women who have young kids. (Honestly, I probably wouldn’t date online period.) But love and friendship can blossom in unusual places and circumstances.

It’s not actually different than any other dating. People should date with an intentional goal of finding a good partner who is capable of sharing and building a life together. This can still happen fot people who have existing children.

Why would you date what is the equivalent of a used nissan altima?

Beat up, broken down, cheap, and already has problems by just looking at it.

I’m only speaking from the experience of my younger, more foolish days.

I understand that it works out for some people. But in my experience, that would be the exception rather than the rule.

I don't think any kids should be dating any moms, single or otherwise.

There is a tremendous amount of women in the dating world that have at least 2 kids fathers.

It’s wild to me how often i run across that.

And it’s not like they had a kid young and then ended up getting married later on kind of thing. It will be 3 kids under 15 with 2-3 dads.

Never been in that situation and happily married so not sure.

That said I watched some friends get together. He had a few kids from a prior marriage. She had a dog. The man acted like the woman's dogs didnt' exist and the woman acted as if the man's kids were domestic help. Predictably it turned out very poorly.

Moral of the story is be prepared to commit to someone else's kids (or pets) as if they are never going away, because they aren't. You had better really like them.

Long time ago I had a girlfriend start telling me what my dog was going to do if we got engaged, "or he's going to find a new home". Guess who found a new home first. Not the dog.

Unless she’s a widow I would suspect that you’re just the next in a string of men she will use.

One of my exes went on to become a single mom just a few years later (not my kid.) From what I understand her standards have lowered significantly and she's constantly mad she can no longer ride the dong carousel freely.

The question is, "Why is she a single mom?"

The need for her to arrange babysitters so you can take her out on dates? Or her not being able to go out with you at certain times because its her turn for the weekend or holiday with the kids.

Then if there's long term potential, eventually you two will be going places with the kids too.

Two is my number. But ideally i want none. Being a step dad is tough.
