I grab a smaller one if I see it because I rarely need a big one and the smaller ones always seem to be in short supply inside.

Same. That is one of my biggest pet peeves. Why anyone is so lazy they cant walk a few steps to put it in the return is beyond me.

Same - I generally park a ways out and there are ususlly carts between me and the door so I grab one when I see one.

I'll usually grab a few on the way in because lazy people leave them all over the lot. I shop the Rouses on Carrollton and they are all over the lot so I grab a few on the way in, drop the excess off at the door and take one for my shopping.

I try to do that and always make a point of putting my cart up as well as organizing unorganized carts in the bin. Dunno why. Just feels good to do it.

It depends.
I like the smaller carts, purchasing for one, and I can see if they are stashed in front of the store or not. If I don't see any in front of the store, I will grab one in the parking lot on my way.

This. Sometimes I get to HEB and there are no small carts which are way easier to maneuver through the store. If I see one in the parking lot on the way in, I grab it and go.
