I've never thought of a BS/BA as a path to more money. It's always been about comfort & lifestyle. Yeah I could make more money working outside, off shore or in west Texas, traveling constantly, but I don't want to do that. I'm also not interested in labor or working outside.

I think that's fair. I'm the same way. I wouldn't be happy on a job site all day. Some people wouldn't be happy in an office all day. So that goes both ways. That said, the discussion become one of income which is why we were discussing income.

. And that was with a Mechanical Engineering Degree. I effed off hard at certain points. My pledge semester, I believe I had a 0.4 GPA. But still, with all that, the only reason it took 6 years was due to poor scheduling. I got trapped in lock step classes and think I had to take a total of 7 hours my last year. I didn't go to a shitty Louisiana public school so it was 4 years of hard high school work plus two semesters of hard college classes (I wasn't taking algebra and reading 101.)
If college isn't for me, Louisiana State must be a shite school, cause they were damn glad to get me to go to their school.

I graduated in 8 years, part of it was my being lazy and part of it was reasons that were out of my control. I bottomed out at a 1.7 GPA, finished with a 3.0. I was easily getting internship offers when my overall GPA was only about a 2.6.
What I did though is I used it during the interview process to talk about how much I've grown start to finish in college when I got asked about it. I was 3/4 on internship interviews to offers and I was 3/3 on graduating job offers.
You wouldn't believe how far a little honestly and being real goes in a job interview. Most of those guys are so used to hearing the same old rehearsed BS that when you go in and act like an actual human being you really stand out from the crowd.

You're about to be told why having a degree in history is more valuable than not having a bachelors degree and going to Air Traffic Control school (median annual salary $120k)
