My bad, it was tree fiddy years ago. Also discrimination is discrimination, so calling a college a black college is discrimination against all the other colors. Imagine the butt hurt if we had white colleges or orange colleges or red. Blacks will cry discrimination.

It's a VOLOD thread. He posts something nonsensical about white people or conservatives, leaves the thread and doesn't return.

Does this on the Poli board all the time.

If by tree fiddy you mean less than three years ago then you are correct.

In my experience, blacks self-segregate in almost any environment I’ve seen not the whites.

Go to a conference, where no black people know each other and by the end of the day they’ll all be sitting together in a group away from all the evil whites.

This is a real phenomenon, but not for any of the reasons you just mentioned. All races do this, not just black people. It is apart of human nature. We connect to and feel most comfortable to people who look like us. I have seen in places where it is majority black, the white folks would find a way to connect with each other. Or if you've ever been in a situation where you are around nothing but women, and there is 1 other guy. Chances are you are going to find yourseld trying to connect with that other dude.

None of this is racist, or because of racism.

Not only races but ethnic groups. The Italian, Polish, Irish, etc. all tended to end up in the same area of the city they wound up in.

People tend to live near similar people.

No one bitches about these communities that pop up with certain races, religions or cultures.

But if a bunch of white people move to an area it's racist and segregation.

All over the country are little communities of a certain people. It's been going on since the beginning of time.

When I was in Middle School I was at a school that was about 80% black and the remaining 20% was a mix of white and Vietnamese.

The Vietnamese kids hung out in the cafeteria and hocked ramen noodles, the white kids hung out in the front yard and skateboarded and played soccer and the black kids hung out in the backyard and played basketball.

Nobody made these kids do anything. It was just the natural flow of things.

As a white kid who loved basketball and was an excellent natural athlete, I spent most of my time in the backyard with the black kids playing ball. I constantly had to fight the, white people aren't good at sports, stigma. Getting picked last for every team, nobody ever passing me the ball, general 'white boy' shite talking, etc. I don't think I ever once got picked to play on the main goals with the full court, despite being better than everybody out there except maybe one or two guys who were a lot older. Instead I was relegated to the side courts with the nerdy black kids who I constantly dominated to the point of boredom until I took up skateboarding and move to the front yard with the other 'white boys'.

Once in awhile when a group of black kids would find their way to the front yard, they were welcomed just fine.

The first time that I ever went to school with a black kid was in the 11th grade.

Schools desegregated when I was in second grade. Most of the black kids that I went to school with were middle class though.

I went to an all white, somewhat rural private school through the 10th grade. It and a few other schools in this area were referred to as segregation academies.

The honest answer is this...sorry if it offends anyone.

Defacto segregation has been going on since white kids & parents realized it’s near impossible to get a good education in an environment with unruly black kids.

There are certainy trashy unruly white kids who do their share of jackassery, but the number of black kids who poison a school is much higher per capita.

I can tell you firsthand that white kids who are outnumbered by black kids in a school have a miserable experience.

Unruly black kids also ruin it for the black kids who actually want to learn. See Charles Barkley’s quote.

Who cares about the history of it? It is discrimination and racists to call a college a 'black college' in today's landscape. Just remove the 'black college/university' part and it won't be so racists then.

IDK if there any black kids at my son’s school, none in his class for sure. Next year he’ll go to a 7-12 boys school and I expect they’ll be a few. I imagine everyone will be well behaved, or the brothers, male nuns as far as I can tell, will give them hell.

My middle school was 60/40 black when I went.

It's now 90/10. The school even changed the name of rebels to wolves because people complained.

I never had an issue with the black kids there. I played basketball with all of em. Class was fine as well.

The issue wasn't with the race but the class level. We were very much middle class and kids hung out with each other.

The trash from both black and white caused the issues.

As the area got really poor and the school was not Allowed to discipline anymore it went to shite.

Most white people moved out and their homes were replaced with lower class blacks further driving the school down.

When I was there the principal and assistant principal were hard asses and ran the school with an iron fist. I loved middle school. It was way better than high school for myself when again class matters as all the rich kids looked down on my middle class 82 Impala driving arse.

That middle school went to shite once discipline went out the window. People who could move out did. School changed the name to appease the new populace.

Still a shite hole school.

This is an overly simplistic view of why HBCUs exist. First, it’s not “discrimination” since they don’t ban other races from attending. That would be illegal.

Secondly, HBCUs weren’t just founded for the hell of it. Blacks weren’t allowed admission at white southern schools back then, so they banded together and formed their own. They didn’t bitch, moan, or complain. They just got the job done.
