I don't disagree with most of what you said baw but this read like a Matthew McConaughey line and I wanted to stand up for Carl Lee.

Could it be that they saw the writing on the wall? I grew up and graduated from a school that was 80/20 black to white. My graduating class was 93% black. I fought with, cried with, ran with, you name it, black people, and I still do. Some of the greatest men that I will ever know and mourn for when they're gone (and they me) are men with black skin. Men who are proud of their black skin, their black heritage, and their southern white "racist" (according to pop culture) members of their community that they gladly and happily live next to and who they deeply care about.
(The most stereotyped man that ever lived, who is attributed with more ignorant blanket statements than any other, is the southern white man.)
The ones who have children are some of the finest fathers that a youngin could ever ask for, and none of them would knowingly send their child headfirst into a school full of white, black, orange or yellow trash if given the choice. What does that make them?
The concept is simple, and the answer (to your question) is even simpler: Strife and poverty breeds such like a rampant disease, and success and prudence likewise. To be around successful people, and good, honest, contributing members of society makes you thirst for it; to be around garbage makes you smell like it...wallow in it for long enough and you become it .
It is not an opinion, it is fact, and outside of the exceptions, it is the rule. The sky is blue and the sun rises in the morning, and the open honest truth of the matter is irrefutable.
I grew up just like you and was taught at a very early age by my dad to judge everyone by their own merits . My friends are probably a 50/50 mix . I do get on my black buddies about them helping their community out more. I'm talking about being role models for the kids who don't have fathers.
I volunteer coach football and baseball( my boys don't play) and I always encourage black men who I think could help with with black kids to coach with me. I see some of these young boys really shine when a role model that is their own race give them attention. Its shows in their attitude on and off the field.

Outside of magnet or the schools at the universities Why would anyone want to send their kids to public schools In the EBR school district? Starting in the 90s and then increasing annually if they couldn’t easily afford it most people I know including the ones who went to public schools In EBR started taking extra jobs or making other sacrifices to put their kids into private school. Some later started moving to places like Zachary or Central going back to public schools. It’s the quality more than anything racial. Not sure why involved white parents & students leaving district and it’s schools further made EBR go to crap, but it became de facto to go to private school or move to a different district to get a better chance at a proper education not to get away from black people or public schools.
I went to a high school in another state that was nearly 50/50 black & white (district slightly more whites) with zero private schools outside a couple of small religious elementary schools because we had high standards and parent involvement. It was like that for entire time I was in district. New developments started right outside city after I graduated that started some very involved parents moving outside district. Little by little standards got lowered, rules were weakened, and private schools through 12th grade started to spring up while surrounding districts maintained and even increased their standards. This decade if not sooner most everyone I know from school that still live in area have or had their kids in private school or have just moved to a neighboring district. Outside of the initial moves to new neighborhood developments outside city & district (small in quantity at first but over Several years flipping district students to being majority black) the main exodus was after standards started to be lowered by people wanting to get theirs kids in schools that had standards similar to what they grew up with. They didn’t move away from blacks. The district moved away from giving a proper education to their kids. Not sure why involved white parents & students leaving district and it’s schools made district start to lower standards especially as many blacks were doing as well as whites before this, but like EBR it eventually became de facto standard to put kids in other public school districts or in private schools for them to get a better education.

Baw, I am the same way. We have been working on getting some hunts up for the utes, particularly ones who have little to no opportunities to get into the outdoors on their own. Between Jesus, the outdoors and my wife I'd of had many excuses for why I crashed and burned my plane into the ground over the years (but they'd of all still been excuses). The outdoors, particularly the stuff available to the public, helped me in my growth to being a contributing man of society, and so I believe in its power to help those in need of some help.
I was just telling a friend the other day (who's black) that we'll have to be sure to recruit black outdoorsmen as much as possible for any young men who are black that go on the hunts; because more often than not, that young man will have a much more relatable, quality experience if he's with a strong male figure whose ways are most like his, and the same goes for white, etc.
It is what it is, and it is a good thing and a natural thing, and it is a sound strategy when the means justify the end- which is to help our fellow man.

When are they going to get ride of the black colleges? Blacks scream rasicm the loudest, but imagine the butt hurt if there were colleges called white colleges also.
So yea remove the racial color from all colleges. But it seems like blacks want to be above the rule bc of what happened 300+ years ago.

In my experience, blacks self-segregate in almost any environment I’ve seen not the whites.
Go to a conference, where no black people know each other and by the end of the day they’ll all be sitting together in a group away from all the evil whites.
