How long does it usually take for a dispute over a fraudulent charge to get reimbursed?

Long story short, charges appear to Walmart.com over the weekend when I was out of town at a wedding, starting on Friday and ending on Saturday, that amassed over $1,300 on my account. Some of the charges have already been reimbursed, only one $200 dollar charge remains.

I've cancelled the card and sent in the forms to my bank and all that, but was looking for personal experiences on how long this usually takes to clear up?

Not a good alibi.

Are you sure you didn't get drunk and order things?

Depends on if it's credit or debit.

Happen to me last year. It took 20 minutes for Chase to reimburse me.

Guess the bank guy didn’t take me for somebody buying shite at Cousins Food Store in NBR. Whoever used it also paid their Entergy bill hahaha.

Every time I've had that happen to me, it has been almost immediately.

The last one was pretty obvious though. I guess they figured there was no way I could be at McDonald's in BR, and buying a $1800 TV in South Carolina at the same time

The dispute process will work like a credit card. Being that it's fraud, and you're bank has already conceded, they should be sending you the money with a few days.

You can't make debit purchases to my knowledge online.

What bank is it? WalMart has a direct account with the card associations and I imagine they have special handling for the bank to get their money back but in fraud cases, there's not any way around it.

Regardless, it shouldn't take more than a day or two.

I had this happen recently. They gave me a "provisional credit" for the charges within a day or two. About a week later, they sent me affidavits to sign for each charge, stating that they weren't mine. Then maybe a couple weeks after that I got mailed confirmation stating that I wasn't responsible for the charges, and that the provisional credits would remain in my account.
