So my wife and I are both working and having a hard time saving enough for down payment. This is our second year and we have barely any savings. How long did it take you baws to save enough for a down payment on your casa?

stop living pay check to pay check. Also, if y'all arent doing extravagant things and still arent able to save then y'all just simply are not in a position to buy a house. sorry.

2 years but I lived at the camp while the wife lived with her mom in BR for nursing school so we put what would have been rent into an account for our future down payment.

This is entirely dependent on where you live, how much you put down, and whether you had things like student loans or not.

Well only thing extravagant we do is food. We eat out 90% of the time but it’s hard to cook as two professionals. I have student loans but aside from that we have little. Don’t even have a tv baw

No it's not. I only eat out when friends want to go so it's an entertainment expense and I'm willing to bet you don't work more than me (that's not a brag just telling you it can be done easily).

That's a few hundred dollars a month right there e

I was 22 and in school. Worked full time two summers and 30 hrs week during school.

Friends thought I was nuts. Friends parents thought it was the greatest thing they had ever seen.

Doubled my money in 6 years.

We bought our first house before the recession and first time home buyers could still 100% finance. We just had to pay closing costs.

Where do you live? It may be possible to get a rural development loan, which means you don’t have to put any money down. If you’re a first time home buyer and don’t make over a certain amount of money, you may be eligible. I think the cutoff is like $75-$80k.
