Yeah I'd feel much more secure with local groups banding together with weapons.

What if ISIS becomes a regular threat and an issue here in the US? They state they are at war with us. Us, not just the govt and military. Each and every one of us.
Do we get the right to end an ISIS member with out waiting on ISIS memeber to do something first?
Early forties, two Nazi men walking the streets of (insert any town they took over)could the local civilians take them out?

You always have the people that play soldier out in the woods, but I don't think anything would really form until you have a right everyone holds sacred taken away. If the government ever decided to remove the 2nd Amendment, I think you'd have an armed rebellion.

For every crazed prepper militia type there are about 27 people who don't give a shite about anything but eating and watching Glee and 13 people who think Obama is doing a great job. So never.

What exactly would these "militias" do? Patrol the streets and detain question anyone they feel could be a member of isis? Shoot them if then don't comply? Or just hope patrol various public places and hope for the .00000000000000001% chance they're at place precisely when a mass shooting is going to occur?

There is always this ridiculous fantasy of heroic vigilantism. Sadly, we live in a country where the only reason you haven't been shot is because no one has decided to shoot you (yet).
