Any charge under 75 requires no receipt. In my personal experience, my supervisors have been lenient. However, I still exercise restraint with the thing

I’m pretty good with mine. Bunch of shite I’ve paid personally (like when I have to pay by check) but never sought reimbursement for. Also have slid a few things on the card (*ahem* alcohol) that I figure they won’t catch. Most importantly, I probably use the thing less than 90% of my colleagues so I figure I’m good.

The company I work for used to not care what the card was used for until they hired a dumbass that charged about 5000.00 worth of stuff on his card and then acted like American Express is like all the other credit cards, ie..make payments, not have to paid off in full at the end of the month. Now if anyone uses their card for anything other than travel expenses they are fired immediately.

I hateeeee using the company card. I’d rather use mine and get reimbursed with the receipts I provide.

Not in my industry. Our sales people can’t do shite.

I worked in the medical device business and once charged $6K of drinks and shots at a bar in Vegas. CFO asked for a list of people there and then paid it.

Is this a serious question?

I'm in sales in Oil&Gas, and I typically don't document shite unless it's a miscellaneous expense. If I'm taking someone fishing or skiing or to a football game, I'll document the tickets, but outside of that I just turn it all in.

And yes, buying alcohol is totally normally and accepted.

I have one and only use it for travel and prob only travel 10 times a year. Never used it for anything other than flight, hotel, taxi, or meal.

I am also amazed at how people I work with try to fudge a few bucks worth of stuff on it. Whether it be a couple drinks or a souvenir from an airport. Risking a upper six figure job for $20.

Makes no sense to me.

I would not have imagined so many companies have hard “no alcohol” policies.

When I accepted my current job (sales), I did it under the condition that I'd use my own card and get reimbursed - so I don't have to deal with bullshite and I can get my points. This way I can submit for line items and pay for drinks, etc myself if I choose.

Also did this with cell phone - keep my own with full monthly reimbursement.

I use my card daily for work with ordering safety supplies and travel. I was ordering some safety supplies and amazon had the best price, so I added my corporate card to my prime account in order to get the prime shipping. I am going over my receipts and my wife had ordered around 50 bucks worth of stuff for my son and didn't look to make sure which credit card she was charging it to. I went to our accounting head and told her what happened and wrote her a check. She was surprised I even brought it to their attention. I am not going to lose my job for a Paw Patrol Halloween costume and some shoes for my son. It depends on what department you work in at my company and who actually is signing off on their expenses. You could spend $2000 grand on a new gun and fill out a lost receipt form and their manager would probably sign off on it because they are too lazy to track something down.

Why would I use their card and give them the points/miles when I can use mine, and just get reimbursed?

the new thing is no personal use of the company iphone (they make you sign a document) yet everybody does it. I guess it's one of those things they will get you for if they want you gone?

I used to work for the state. We could only put gas, lodging, and one or two other things on the card I had. If I didn't provide a receipt for even $1 of gas, then it was a strike against me. Three strikes and I would have been fired.

I guess I was too low on the totem pole to be able to take advantage of it.

Pretty much every one on the planet where a sales team entertains customers. My dad's company is in oil field communications. He said the reps for some of their major clients will be 5 margaritas deep at lunch on a Monday.

No, sir, you sent her into the field, she got sick doing her job, you can reimburse her the goddamn $10 for her fricking meds.

C'mon man. That's reaching. If she got a headache on a work trip should they reimburse her for Excedrin? Should they reimburse her if she forgot tampons?

The only thing I have ever biffed is charging Ubers on my company card when I should have used my personal. I just have them payroll deduct it.
