I run a crew and it sure makes it easier when everyone gets along.

98% guys 2% ladies that might be the secret to our success. All the good looking ladies work in the front office.

Pretty laid back. I drive all day long for a company, and make about 8-12 stops on average a day. My work day consists of listening to music and ESPN radio all day.

My primary job is pretty laid back compared to most I have had. It requires me to travel all over Louisiana and Texas at different times. It is sometimes demanding, but most times pretty laid-back and gives me plenty of time for skylarking, homework and TD. The biggest upside is that they work completely around my school schedule.

my office is me, my wife and usually the dogs
in the field are three good ole boys
so the job environment itself couldn't be more laid back but if I don't make the deals we don't eat

Very

I work in the accounting dept of a blue collar place

I wear LL bean rubber boots, jeans, a t-shirt everyday and could wear a hat but I don't

I could have a duck dynasty beard but I don't. There are a lot of guns in the place and I bring mine in and put it in my desk occasionally. It's not a normal day unless you hear someone drop "frick" within the first 4 minutes of walking in the door (not the acct people mind you)

I love my job, it's not uncommon to have grease all over the paperwork of a $50,000 job

So literally every poster for 3 pages is in a totally laid back job?

My job isn't laid back, and I'm totally fine with that.

I'm not required to but I wear a suit to work every day.

Most of the people that have shitty jobs are staying away from this thread lol. My job is as boring as it is laid back. I work in an office all day everyday doing inside sales and other bullshite paperwork. I like it because I pretty much do whatever I want and nobody bothers me and right now with the O&G industry the way it is, we are slow so I frick off more than I should. Ready to get outside and start doing sales though.

This thread is interesting to me.

I retired four months ago from the Federal Government. I was pretty high up as a GS 13. It was the most uptight, stressful environment that you could possibly imagine. They constantly threatened you with threat of terminations and even contempt of court charges. We had a conference last year where the theme was to change your career if you don't want to be there.

I took their advice and retired.

I intend to work a second career and quality of life is my highest priority. I will never again work for a bunch of people like I have in my professional career.

My job is stressful as frick, but I have free reign to leave at lunch and play golf, take off whenever, come/go whatever time for the day, etc. But I need to be accessible 99.5% of the time and usually have 5-6 hours a day booked in meetings/conferences, mostly taking on the phone. I work for a large hospital system in communications systems/IT management.

ETA- dress, I pretty much wear button up long sleeve with slacks or polo with slacks/khakis depending on the meetings and who I am meeting with that day.

For the OT- I wear Allen Edmunds and Johnston & Murphy dress shoes and do not mix navy and black.

Not going to bull shite though. My job is stressful enough. We're waiting on a lot of money to come through to finish the quarter and if we don't get it, the board meeting on Friday will suck balls. Bad January, phenomenal February and March is iffy.

I'll know Tuesday

My job depends on people paying for work we've done.

Damn man, I would've chewed a couple of people out and left after a month. Office jobs drive me insane to start with, and then you add assholes in there? frick that, I'd rather be roofing

My work environment is very laid back, the actual work is not. I am accounting, HR, and IT at my company. My boss is cool as hell and also three states away, but if the job is done I hardly talk to him.

Using the Lithium scale^, I'm at 8 for 362 or 363 days per year and at 5 or 6 for the remainder.

Been at it a while.

I wear professional clothes but I could wear jeans, I guess.

I would say that my job is a 5/10 on the casual scale...

we dress business casual and have to look and act professionally...however, we do have lots of freedom to manage ourselves and as long as the work is getting done, there is not an issue.
