We adopted from China 5 years ago. My son hasn't personally experienced it, but my wife frequents a few China adoption support groups on Facebook and we've read tons of stories of children getting content harassment because that dumbass put "China flu" in the lexicon.
Argue all you want whether you consider it racist or not, it pisses me off that my son would be regarded that way for something he had nothing to do with simply because of where he's from.

Nobody in my part of the state gives a crap about mask mandate except the school board.
Very angry and pissed off about my kid being forced to wear something that doesn’t work and interferes with non verbal communication skills.
No stores or restaurants care about it just clinic/hospital/pharmacy, which I actually understand. Even though the cheap paper masks they hand out do little to nothing to prevent coof.

I have not been challenged for not wearing a mask yet, except for getting a haircut. I did it out of courtesy to the older barber due to proximity.. Otherwise no challenges.

My approach is to not be an immature a-hole to someone just trying to do a job. I spend all day every day dealing with the gigantic labor shortage in almost every facet of life right now so the thought of going out of my way to be a dick to someone that is actually out holding and doing their job, even if I don't agree with what they are told to do, is hard to even comprehend. If this is really the way you conduct yourself in society, you are the real problem in this country. You are a fricking embarrassment to humans. Everything you read on facebook is true. Especially from "look at me" parents posting on facebook.
And I hate to break it to you but it isn't Trump voters discriminating against and attacking people from China. That's why the news stopped telling us every time it happened.

If being asked to do something as harmless as to wear a mask would cause you to be an a-hole, I would hate to see what would happen if they actually did something to justify it.

Nah, don't worry about them. Maybe they pushed back and the store didn't want to push them further. Maybe they just skirted by unnoticed. Maybe they have some other issue. What's it to you whatever it was? Worry about yourself.
