In 2024 you would think they could get high def security cameras

i spent a few years doing security when i was younger.

thing is, the companies themself pay for those cameras, and they decide how clear they want the images to be.

companies intentionally want them blurry as shite so they can choose which employees to go after and which ones to ignore they are stealing.

most of all security cameras are blurry and unfocused on purpose, the companies want them to look worse then those bigfoot pictures you see.

with todays tech, any camera that isnt clear enough to see facial features and ID anyone on camera, is designed that way intentionally

Truebleeda’s murderer was still walking the streets up until a few days ago. And he was ID’d for a fact. You think they are going to throw some frat star in prison for knocking out a guy that threw the first punch?

I could easily be wrong but I don't see this going the fraternity route.

Garrett Ward seems to have been “fratstarred to prison” for a few decades if I’m not mistaken.

But I agree, no one facing going to jail or prison over this situation unless one of fighters happens to be 2 time felon or something

Garrett Ward was 30 when he killed the homeless guy? Sure there are outliers but when you look up deaths due to someone being stomped or kicked when they're already down you don't typically get fraternity guys being the culprits.

Yes greeks do fight at these bars but typically it's against other greeks. Curb stomping has me leaning to a more diverse crowd. Or maybe a baw from one of the neighboring parishes.

Again, I'm not saying it doesn't happen - I even said you typically see groups of greeks fighting other greeks.
I even said I could easily be wrong here.

I know and I’m not trying to get after you,
I apologize if I came off that way.

from what I’ve seen firsthand in TL(20 years ago) the drunk white kids were the most brutal as far as not disengaging after opponent is down.

If Les Miles was still the coach, the arrest would have already happened

He may have started physical nature of argument or he just took first swing against the group following him in “hot putsuit” especially if group was aggressive and threatening him beforehand or surrounding him. There is also what happened with the entire group rushing him and knocking him to the ground which seems likely to be more related to the injury to the back of his head. It may have just involved defending friend by knocking down the guy when injury occurred or the group may have gone past that. Two friends were injured as well when beaten by group, so more happened than 2 swings and then a group knock down.

Biggest thing is that the person and group don’t appear to have waited around just to ambush the guy when he left. It’s more about if the guy and his group went overboard or not in more of a bar fight situation. The ambush scenario seemed more clear cut that a crime occurred, but what happened with group rushing him or between group & his 2 friends is not as clear cut and why nothing has been said one way or the other to date.

quote:

Devin Repath walked backward out of Fred's Bar on March 23, with several people in "hot pursuit," a police report obtained by WBRZ says.

Repath, 26, left the Tigerland bar around 1:15 a.m., just after he had a dust-up with another group of men inside. Police said that exchange involved some pushing and shoving, and soon spilled out into the parking lot.

Once outside, Repath swung at a man in the other group. He missed. That man hit back, knocking Repath backward. The man and his friends "immediately began to rush Repath, knocking him to the ground," the report said. Two of Repath's friends who were at the bar with him that night were also beaten, but only suffered minor scrapes and bruising.

BRPD officers who were working as off-duty security in the Tigerland parking lot area heard about something happening outside Fred's. Officers said they found Repath unconscious and bleeding from the back of his head.

Just because someone dies does not mean a crime was committed

Usually that’s for a jury to decide.

DA's determine if a crime is committed. Jurys decide if a person is guilty or not.

DA's determine the best way to get re-elected.

They do this by charging or not charging a people with a crimes.

Charging a person with a crime doesn't mean that person committed a crime, just like not charging a person with a crime does not mean that person in fact did not commit a crime.

Jurys determine if that person is guilty of committing a crime. And that is not very comforting in most instances.

From Koran - arrest made - unable to like from app

BATON ROUGE — Baton Rouge Police officers have made an arrest in connection to the beating death in Tigerland of Devin Repath, 26, a father of two, who died in March 2023.

Matthew Marsiglia, 21, was arrested Wednesday afternoon and is charged with one count of manslaughter. His bond has not been set at this time.

Investigators believe Marsiglia punched Devin Repath one time while in the parking lot of Fred’s Bar & Grill on March 23, 2024.

Not if his head hit the ground hard enough

The other article made it sound like the guy that died was the instigator
