Is Lake Fork still a great bass lake? We used to go there every year for a fishing trip but it’s been almost 20 years since we’ve last been down there.

NW Arkansas is unrecognizable to anyone from the 80’s to early 90’s. Obviously a major population explosion due to Walmart, Tyson and JB Hunt. What really made the population grow was Walmart’s demand to have representation from vendors live in the area.

New Orleans has changed a lot since I've been alive---and I've been alive since 1952. Some for the better, some for the worse.

I actually feel the biggest changes happened in the adjoining Parishes of St. Bernard and Jefferson Parish with their growth and modernization.

We have a music festival (Pilgrimage) and half of the entertainment world has a house here now. It’s insane

Nashville has changed drastically and it's still one of the fastest growing city in America. Only moderate change in the 80's, 90's, and 00's. Last 10 years was when Nashville became really popular.

I honestly think this is a misconception. The roads suck, yes, but there have been a lot of improvements the housing in around NOLA that make the place look better. I’m not a resident and was in town last week for the first time in a couple years. Both my wife(who lived there until two years ago) and I noticed a facelift.
Besides the roads. The roads suck and that’ll never change due to the soil underneath

More crime, malls dead, Hispanic population has quadrupled, most restaurants are Latin, schools are too scary to send kids who want to learn to.

Well my high school is now majority minority, we can barely field a football team even though in my years we were good and it was the thing to do on friday, and the area around Lambeau is way more developed and awesome.

And I would say that downtown and the river front is much better than we were kids.

But yeah the district that feeds our old high school is poorer now.

Small town in south Louisiana. Not a damn thing has changed there. It’s in a static state.

Lol Baton Rouge is the same as it’s ever been except there’s less crime now than their was in the 80’s and a lot of the classic bars have closed or been turned into wannabe hipster nonsense (Overpass Merchant)

Mine hasn't changed a bit, that's what's wrong with it.

Plaquemine, not one bit as far as new construction goes. The same buildings and shopping centers still stand. They opened a new road and moved Butcher Boy grocery store from area to another. Walmart got moved also. That’s about it.

Then: courthouse square, thriving downtown, several major industries population slowly increasing

Now: courthouse square, Walmart put in its megastore on the outskirts of town, downtown is a ghost town, the four lane came and instead of skirting the town they tore down a good sized section of downtown, population has declined significantly, only one industry.

You talking about Kenner?

Grew up there. It is now the East. Esplanade is Lake Forest. Empty strip shopping malls. Houses look rundown. No economic development at all. When you drive through broadmoor and it looks nicer than chateau and woodlake your city is dead.
