Our club shuts down for school ball. I really think that’s how they’re trying to win people over to soccer.
There's some LHSAA rule that says you cant do both at the same time. Or something along those lines...

No offense man, but you really need to tap the brakes and just let the kid play.

That's a Title IX discussion that you don't want to get into.

My Chauffeur will drive my child whatever distance they are told to.

The best player in the state of Mississippi my age group was Justin Mapp who moved to the US academy in Bradenton (at the time) and is still playing in the MLS. He has had several caps with the US National team
However if you don’t want him playing beyond club/high school, then no point in driving that far. Let him play club and kick field goals.

A friend of mine drove his kid (I think he was 12 or 13) from NOLA to Baton Rouge (Traction) 3 times a week. After the first season, he said it was taking a serious toll on his family, his job, and the kid was falling asleep in class. He found something closer after that. Some parents (not all) don't take the rest of their family (or their job) into consideration when making these decisions.
Youth Sports is big business and these trainers are in the business to make money. It may not be the case with you and your kid, but I have seen a lot of money and time waisted by middle class white people because the Trainers ("salespeople") blow a lot of smoke up the parents and kid's arse as to why they need exclusive training only offered by their facility.

My 13 year old niece is a truly special basketball player and has been in a private club since she was 6. She's not thinking about college or anything, if it happens it happens; but it is amazing how many kids there are who have way way way less natural ability than she does who are in that private club and their parent have been talking about "her college scholarship chances" since they were 5 or 6 years old. My sister just happens to live about 30 minutes from this club, but some of these parents drive 2 hours each way for practice. Just stupid.

We did 3 times a week 40 mins and could not wait for the season to end.
Spend the extra time and money getting lessons locally.

My advice: Play your kid on a local club team. Drive 80 miles once a week for private lessons with a really good coach to work on his technical training. Do speed and agility training locally. Email club DOCs in the region to see if any of their comp 1 teams needs a guest player for a tournament.

He’s on a local club, and they’re the top ranked squad in the state. He plays center mid for them and it’s a good bit of pressure. We have a local agility trainer, but for this 3 month break I want him to get some playing time with other kids. His club team is very athletic, at the expense of shape and technical play, and I’d rather he learned more off-the-ball movement. I’ve found a futsal/soccer club that I think fits the bill. IDK though. I just want him to have fun before the push to win State starts in the spring.
No idea how to guest play for another club. I researched camps and clinics and most ike Mandeville and Fire are included in their season prices...didn’t look like they offered to train other kids. It would be great for him to play forward off of the bench or something like that, hell...left back, anything but the middle.
