How far would you drive for your child’s sports practice?

What’s your limit, time or mileage, for driving your kid to a sports training session? How many times a week?
I’ll have to make a commitment soon, but I can’t decide what’s too much. The training facility is over 80 miles away, but the roads are shitty so it’s 1.5 hours one way. Three training sessions during the week, but that’s insane. 1 time a week and maybe a couple of weekends a month?
If you’re in BR, would you take your kid to NOLA for practice? What if they asked for a 3 times a week commitment?

Everyone will tell you you're nuts, but do it.

I cut a hole in the fence so he could practice pitching.

I would find a team closer to where you lived...

depends.. how olds the kid, and how advanced is he.
if he is in high school and looking at a scholly sure... if he is a child and you think he is the next big thing... hell naw

I'm not saying you shouldn't get your child involved in sports, but find something closer.

Not quite the answer to the question asked but I used to have to drive an hour and a half to ride my show horse in college.
It was worth it, though. No good trainers in my area.

Considering little j/k/brayden has major league talent you'd be wasting time and money NOT doing it. No brainer.

Unless you watch your kid play and think he TRULY has the ability to snag a scholly at some point, don't waste your time.
Sports are so expensive, time consuming, and competitive these days that it's hardly worth the damn trouble unless you know you have an athletically gifted child. Stick with the local programs if it's nothing more than a hobby for the kid.

Depends on the sport and how good he is

Assuming it's for the Fire?
I almost committed to that a few years back, decided against it (I was the kid in this scenario).
If you're kid has aspiration/talent to play in college then it may be worth your while. For me, I knew I didn't want any part of that, so high school ball was enough for me.
ETA: Part of me regrets not trying to play with/against some of the best in the state, but it wasn't worth asking my parents to make that sacrifice.

Woodlands to Cypress for the speed clinic.....not quite there yet, but if one of my boys can benefit, I'll do it.
