The progressive will reframe everything. For instance:
We bombed Hiroshima because we were racist.
The American flag represents the worst of jingoistic symbolism and has been a part of assaults upon numerous peoples.
The founding fathers are so flawed, we shouldn't mention them without heavily contextualizing their racist, sexist, Christian views. It's easier to just focus on women like Sacajawea.

Will google start blocking searches for photos and narratives of events that shaped the current America? Probably is coming next.

It is coming soon.
Gary is an idiot, possibly too much of an idiot to see where this is heading.
People like Gary want you to believe this is all fine and dandy by justifying statue removal. Then people like Gary will try to justify renaming streets, universities, counties, etc.
Gary will claim it's all in the name of racial harmony. Then the clamor of to burn the plantations down will begin.
Gary does this because he has nothing better to do in life. People like Gary want to decide what is and is not socially acceptable. They think it's their birthright...or something.
The world is better off with people NOT being like Gary.

Hey I want to learn about history; where are all the statues of Santa Anna in Texas?
Posted on 8/19/17 at 11:56 am to GaryMyMan
Statues weren't erected the day after the war because people had no money. It took a while to gather up enough to build them.

How far? As far as we let them, until sane people decide enough is enough.
Not going to be any time soon, I'm afraid.

History will have to be modified to remove everything offensive to everyone who isn't Caucasian. We don't care what the Caucasians think.

In time, history will have begun on the first Tuesday in Nov 2008.

Gen Beauregard's equestrian statue was built in 1913
Never was a fan of Beauregard, not sure why anyone ever felt the need to make a statue of him.

Robert E Lee's statue in New Orleans was built 20 years after the South lost the war
Probably in part because he, more than most other southern leaders, worked tirelessly to get the south reintegrated into the union. He was a united states hero before he was a confederate hero (and subsequently, imo) and he fretted over which way to fall in the conflict. Like many, if not most, people in those times, he felt his allegiance lay first with his state, not the federal government.

Once they took down all those Hitler statues people practically forgot he existed.

No one is advocating the bulldozing of Oak Alley or the Custis-Lee mansion or any other structure built before the war.
You sure?

Remember when the gay marriage slippery slope argument got to people marrying their animals or some shite?
It just went to special treatment for trannies and is moving towards acceptance of pedophilia in a few years.

Just watch. A couple leftist publications, salon being one, jumped the gun and posted articles. They've since been deleted but you can find them in a thread on the poli board

I have seen some fringe wackos want to legitimize child molesting but yeah I don't see that happening any time soon. Polygamy will happen before that, and probably at the behest of immigrants.

That's right. I have just as much to bitch about than anyone else on this matter.

We might take down Ford and Disney statues on public property.
The way things are going, I will be surprised if there are any statues on public property in 50 years.
But don't kid yourself. Public property is just the start. After simmering for a few years, the next step will be private property in a public space.
