But Obama is just as much white as he is black. People choose to leave that part out.

What is the endgame? This absolutely is a legitimate question.

Do we have statues and memorials dedicated to the British empire and British war generals that opposed George Washington? How about the Spanish? To my knowledge, we eliminated as much British as we could, even striving to change the way we talk.

Is your only education of civil war leaders looking at statues of them in random cities? Read a book maybe.
I agree, do it before they're all burned.

The leftists are pretending to be focused on the statues right now. They bring up irrelevant specifics such as statues to British rulers or other historical figures pretending to draw parallels. But they aren't paralells.
We've seen this all before with the tranny stuff. Blah blah blah, it's just bathrooms.
Same thing here...'it's just statues.'

Hell, even Obama leaves that part out.

So the bathroom bills written by republican state legislators are the result of genuine crimes happening and actual complaints from people, not just some creative way to froth up their (donating) base for something that has never been an issue?
Citation please.

Never was a fan of Beauregard, not sure why anyone ever felt the need to make a statue of him.
Beauregard was actually from Louisiana and fought his balls off.
He came back to Louisiana after the war and helped build the street cars in the city
He also fough for the rights for black people to work along side whites....
Yes, Beau was actually s civil rights leader and extremely progressive in his time. Which is why it is lol worthy black people wanted to take him down

I forgot about that but Beauregard was a quintessential politician once he entered public life after his pardon by Johnson. A primary driver for his championing of black workers rights was garner votes to try to drive radical republicans out of the Louisiana legislature. He was also one of the people to get rich via the Louisiana Lottery Corporation. But he did return to Louisiana and in terms of a statue in Louisiana, you have a point.
Lee worked to try to reconcile north and south. He actually helped convince Beauregard to publicly swear his oath of allegiance to the United States in order to get his full pardon which allowed for him to hold public office. That is my thinking on why I think Lee, in particular, makes little sense in terms of these protests.

Way to deflect. You are choosing to try to open up this discussion with what you are stating as facts, without the precious citations you asked from me.
Stay on topic here Gary...
We are talking about 'history scrubbing.' I'm gonna go out on a limb and bet that you are one of those guys that thinks I'm part of some perceived problem because I don't agree with you.

Yeah - it is mostly pawn stars and counting cars and pickers and crap like that.
The only good History Channel was the H2 channel but they replaced that with VICE -

When people find out Henry Ford and Walt Disney were raging anti-semites and racists will we dismantle Disney World and vandalize every Ford car, then fine the owners?
These are private businesses, the free market will take of it of it. Try harder to make your slippery slope logically fallacy work.
Why can't citizen's decide what or whom is venerated on public lands?

The difference is people's fathers, brothers, uncles, cousins weren't being memorialized by putting up statues to the British and Spanish. Most of the confederate statues are memorials to southern fathers, brothers, uncles, cousins that died. 260,000 Confederate soldiers died in the war. All these men are recognized by the US government as US war veterans. These men's deaths are being memorized not their cause.
