Depends on the flexibility between my chauffeur and my pilot.

8+ hours
Less than that, its not worth the cost and hassle of flying. Not to mention the inconvenience of not having your own means of transportation and either having to Uber around or rent a car.

It varies depending on the situation, but generally 12 hours drive is my cutoff. If I’m tired or in a hurry I’ll fly but I prefer to drive if I can.

Depending on the destination, ubering can be much less of a hassle than having a car. New Orleans for example. If you stay downtown, you’re paying quite a bit to park your car during your stay.
I only rent a car if I need to go a ways away from whatever airport I land at.

Probably about 5 hours. There are exceptions, of course.

Drove to Omaha...around 15 hours. Miserable drive.
Drove to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee... 11.5 hours. Wasn’t too bad.
Flew to Chicago for LSU game at Lambeau Field.

It depends for me.
If its a quick weekend and a city with an airport, I'm flying.
Even if its as short as NOLA to Houston.
Furthest I drive is Nola to Shreveport for a weekend.
If its anything more than a weekend I'm driving to have a car there, within 12 hours

10 hours. I don’t mind driving and like having my own car with me.

More than 8 hours. It's a bitch to fly anywhere in less than 8 hours anyway from the time you leave your house to the time you drive up to the destination. I might as well drive and not have to worry about spending the night in the airport

Huh? I’m flying to New Orleans Saturday. Flight is at 7:20 AM and lands at 8:54 AM. I’ll wake up and be at the airport by 5:30.
To get there by 9:00 AM driving, I would have to leave around 2:00 AM. It’s about a 7.5 hour drive stopping only once for gas. Stopping for breakfast or lunch, I’d have to leave by midnight or 1.

That’s early isn’t it?
We’re only staying the night then driving to the condo. Coming back after a week to spend a few days in the city for our anniversary.

If I have to go to Houston or Tampa and want to be back the same day I fly...otherwise...5-6 hours is my max driving...anything longer than that Im flying

Nice. I’ll be on the whim of my FIL that day but when we come backs it’s just the wife and I. Might go next Saturday.

All about how much your time is worth. We've flown to Disney twice. Taking the early flight both times I was in Magic Kingdom by 10am. That's a days drive.
I think of it in terms of if I have to use a whole vacation day just to get where we're going its better to fly.

Has nothing to do with distance for me. All about the time. I’ll drive Hou to NOLA no problem, but if I’m only going for one event lasting a few hours, I’m flying so that one event doesn’t cost me 10-12 hours on the road. I’ll drive if it’s a long wkend I’m spending

3 pages and not one mention of 3 and a half hours or 350 miles?
I am disappoint.
