How does the Bible reconcile dinosaurs and their long existence?

How does the bible account for how long the dinosaurs lived? Did God decide they'd rule the earth first and then the humans?
Its actually pretty scary to think about how the dinosaurs went extinct.

For those who question the aftereffects and the survival of species following this event, they should use their mind's eye and imagine how the blast and fall-out would travel around the globe.
It's oft been said that the asteroid impacted at an angle which suggests it was traveling from the southern polar quadrant, impacting Mexico at a shallow angle which sent the majority of the blast northwards across North America, most likely wiping everything out as it went. The fall out would then have traveled up over the North Pole and down across Russia and Europe, likely only stalling as it reached the equator on the other side of the planet.
Southern Africa therefore was left virtually unscathed. This explains the survival of the larger species there: Elephant, Giraffe, Rhinoceros, whose early forebears perhaps barely survived the effects of the global climate change. It also explains why evidence of early man's development is seen mainly in post-apocalyptic south Africa, as smaller pygmy-like species of primate took advantage of the reduction in predators and so got a 'leg-up' on the evolutionary ladder. In many ways we have the asteroid apocalypse to thank for mankind's evolutionary success story!
In most other areas, only the smaller species would have survived... voles, mice, rats, insects, birds, lizards... and it's from these forebears that our modern animal species have evolved and explains the lack of large animal species across the Americas, Asia and Europe. The ocean creatures would have fared rather better and this explains the survival of large oceanic creatures like the whales, narwhals, sharks and, of course, the rich diversity of small oceanic life.
What's most fascination to consider is how many species were wiped out that we will never see any evidence of? Animals that existed in the central Americas whose remains were incinerated, never to be seen in nature again?

They don't acknowledge their existence

Dinosaurs aren't real. Fossils were placed by Satan to make you doubt God.

This is the problem with Sola Scriptura.
The Protestant Reformation has destroyed Christianity and Western Civilization and few even realize it.

Must have died before Noah
How do you explain the mammoth, found in North America, if the asteroid blast wiped out all the big animals in these parts of the world?

That's not 100% correct. They mostly acknowledge that the earth is only around 6000 years old and that something that resembles dinosaurs did exist and some currently bring up cases in the Amazon that a few of the last know tribes still report seeing a creature that resembles a dinosaur.

There'sa really cool debate where Jon Ham rips apart atheist snake Bill Nye and explains it all. Very educational.
It's so great watching atheist liars cry when they get owned.

Sure it does. Oh, you meant ignorant Christians.
Look at the words tanniyn, behemoth, and leviathan, which appear in the Old Testament.
For example, leviathan has the following attributes according to Job chapter 41, Psalm 104:25,26 and Isaiah 27:1. This is only a partial listing—just enough to make the point.
“No one is so fierce that he would dare stir him up.”
“Who can open the doors of his face, with his terrible teeth all around?”
“His rows of scales are his pride, shut up tightly as with a seal; one is so near another that no air can come between them; they are joined one to another, they stick together and cannot be parted.”
“His sneezings flash forth light, and his eyes are like the eyelids of the morning. Out of his mouth go burning lights; sparks of fire shoot out. Smoke goes out of his nostrils, as from a boiling pot and burning rushes. His breath kindles coals, and a flame goes out of his mouth.”
“Though the sword reaches him, it cannot avail; nor does spear, dart, or javelin. He regards iron as straw, and bronze as rotten wood. The arrow cannot make him flee; slingstones become like stubble to him. Darts are regarded as straw; he laughs at the threat of javelins.”
“On earth there is nothing like him, which is made without fear.”
Leviathan “played” in the “great and wide sea” (a paraphrase of Psalm 104 verses 25 and 26—get the exact sense by reading them yourself).
Leviathan is a “reptile [a] that is in the sea.” (Isaiah 27:1)
Sounds like a dinosaur to me.

in Kentucky some Christian sect has a showplace where dinosaurs and humans are portrayed as sharing the same time and space.
the part they can't address is carbon dating.

Over the course of 65 million years, a common ancestor migrated out of Africa and into Asia. The mammoth eventually came about and crossed into North America during the last glacial maxima. The mammoth didn't die out until about 1000-1500 years ago.
