Tybee Island did this back in the 90s. Some of the stories of the long time residents who had been there most of their lives having to leave was really sad

When Kamalamadingdong suggested taxes on unrealized gains with households with assets over $100m everyone about lost their fricking minds, but we do just that when we pay taxes annually on the assessed value of our homes. Then, under certain circumstances, we get taxed on the actual gains when we sell it. What a great investment.

Property taxes are theft, but because you are a habitual loser in life, you'll never comprehend or care about it, because you'll always be sucking hind tit in life to even notice.
