I’m order to have been grabbed that night by the lion I assume he had to be fricking around doing something stupid he shouldn’t have been doing. It’s the only explanation really. But if that’s him and he lost his arm, I assume he also lost the leg too…?

They mean on the opposite side of the enclosure. The ground must angle up and the opposite side is the same level as where his feet were.
