Tell her she's stunning, brave, and is starting to look like Lizzo.

No, it’s not. Some people have emotional issues that make it almost impossible to lose weight, her love for him notwithstanding.

OP, if y’all are young (under 30), if she has gained significant weight, and if a slim girl is vitally important to you (as it is with me) then break up with her. And tell her why. Do it as gently as possible. Maybe she will talk you out of leaving with a commitment to get in shape. If not, you are free to look for a woman who shares your values.

But don’t fall for any BS about being shallow. It’s not shallow to insist on an attractive woman.

Good luck with that. Love it or leave it. People only get squishier the older we get. Jobs, kids, stress… so many reasons/excuses to not exercise and eat Oreos. The only thing that keeps you skinny is a high metabolism or obsession with exercise/health.

what should I say? All the ideas sound great?

Really point out where’s she’s gained that weight, too

‘Honey, what are you carrying in those saddle bags?’

‘Why are you putting cottage cheese on your thighs?’

‘Why didn’t you tell me you were pregnant?’

My son has the same problem. Had a freshman gf at LSU last year, came home and asked wife and his sister how to tell gf she had gained more than the freshman 15. He actually lost 30 pounds from his HS weight due to no longer playing football.

They told him there was no nice way to tell her to lose weight.

They are no longer a couple.

For starters,

(1) make sure you are more than one arm length away
from her
(2) not while driving
(3) not while trapped in spaces with only one exit
(4) not during the holiday season, have a heart
(5) not during bikini season, see rule 4
(6) public spaces are best, she can't lash out as
violently there due to law enforcement
(7) not on a boat/ship, or basically anywhere near water
(8) not when she is holding/near anything that could
cause life threatening injury
(9) no skyscrapers, cliffs, waterfalls( rule 7), or ladders
(10) not while hunting(see rule 8)
(11) not while skydiving
(12) not while in a remote area(see rule 10)
(13) not while in the basement
(14) not while leaned over into the deep freeze
(15) not while near some zoo exhibits
(16) not while on african safari
(17) not during a shark diving excursion(see rule 7)
(18) not while her mom, sisters, aunts, or friends are
around ( this one is vey important)

It going to end good for you.

Relationships are like a balancing act.
You will never win and she will never forget.

Got to somehow make her think she has to lose weight.

Your only bet is asking her to help hold you accountable and have her join in. You’ll have to work twice as hard trying to make it fun.

1. Cooking together
2. Counting calories together
3. Fun activities together
4. Celebrating little victories together.

Say "Hey, one of the women at work was talking about something called Ozempic (or Monjuro, Rybelsus, just pick one). Have you ever heard anything about that? She said she has been on it for 6 months and has lost 25 lbs. Weird."

Tell her you want to run a marathon together with her.

Show her a training program that will have the two of you spending 30-45 minutes 4-5 times a week together on a run (not on your phones).

On weekends, you will spend 3 hours or more together talking and running.
