In my experience that is not true, not saying some don’t. I use the dealership financing 100% of the time to get rebates or offers then pay it off or refinance at a lower rate with another company the next week.

I always thought people made way too much of a fuss about it. Without getting attached, figure out what you think is a fair price for the car you want.
This has always been my view. People get so stressed about buying a car bc they are worried about overpaying. They feel like it’s a test of their mettle, and they don’t want to hear of some friend who got a better deal by being a hardcore negotiating tactician. It’s always great to pay less, and of course try to get the best deal, but if a few thousand dollars is going to break me then I shouldn’t be buying the car anyway.

Negotiate with your trade in. Have someone else willing to buy your current car and use that as a bargaining chip.

There is a website called www.delivrdto.me, you can pay him $1000 to negotiate the deal. He negotiates 150-200 deals a month. In a July video, he said they were getting 4-6k off Camrys "every day of the week". LINK (Camry is at the 10:40 mark) Also, he pretty much refuses add-ons across the board or negotiates them down significantly. I have never used the service but I bet he could get a deal at least a thousand less than I could, so it would probably be at worst a wash.

Got to the manufacturer's site and search nationwide inventory. I saved $18k off sticker and $10k off local price by just being willing to drive a few hours.

best way is to search on cars.com and autotrader and find the lowest advertised prices within 500 miles of you and then use that as leverage to make a better deal with the local dealers. I am not sure on how well toyotas are discounted though.

Great car if you coule get it w/o thqt hybrid crap.

The easiest thing to do is just go to Tesla.com, pick the car you want, pick the accessories, and hit submit order. The $7500 tax credit expires the end of the month I believe.

Know the value of the car you’re buying
Never discuss note or down payment

My local Chevrolet/GMC dealer is a No Hassle-No Haggle shop. This means that the price is the price, period. I have found their prices to be significantly lower than anywhere else I’ve looked. If social media is to be believed, people fly in from other areas of the country to buy a new vehicle from them. I have a friend that works there and he swears it’s true. So, if you can find a place that absolutely will not negotiate on price, you are likely getting as good a price as can be found.

You paid 28 + tax, or 28+ 900 fees + finance charge?
28k + tax. They tried to add all those stupid fees and told them I was walking. Got up to walk out the door and the salesman ran after me. Find a dealer towards the end of the year with a bunch on the lot.
Then they pushed hard for warranties and I passed on them. Got 1.9 financing rate on top it b/c that was the special and why I choose that car.

Unpopular opinion, but if you buy a lot of the same vehicle, find a sales guy you like, and buy from him/her repeatedly.
I get a good new price, and excellent trade-in values for my trades Haven't been to his dealership at all for the last two trucks...

What dealership?
I few around me have moved to this as well. I will say, they aren't budging much. I didn't some window shopping recently, and they all pretty much told me to kick rocks or take the price.

This isn’t always good advice. I knew how much I wanted to pay for the car, my down payment and the interest rate special they had at the time.
I told them I’d buy the car if they could get it the monthly price I wanted. They went one dollar over and I gave in.

"I flew to Kalamazo, Michigan and bought it."
Do you then bring it to your local dealer for servicing?

Patience. Lots of patience.
The only way to get a deal now days is to demonstrate you aren’t in a rush. Let them know you want the ‘25, if they can knock off a reasonable amount - tell them you’re going to shop around and to call you if the incentives change. You’ll probably have to deal with 2-3 calls from the salesperson trying to get you back at the dealership, do not show up again until you have a price you like in writing.
Eventually they will either need to get it off the lot or need a sale before month close. Patience.
