Youre retired? No wonder you're all over the FBD threads

(Also, that's not doing nothing, that's doing a bunch of stuff)

Kind of hard to do that when you don’t have a home,

Most of honey do type things are yard work and doing laundry. I don't fold and not allowed to clean because I do it wrong anyway. Sometimes my day will consist of cutting the yard then sitting in the hammock drinking a beer while listening to the radio under the tree

Your tax dollars. If you made it so they would starve and die then there wouldn’t be this issue

Well, I do enjoy yard work, so I'm in on that. As long as I have really good equipment. And I don't mind laundry either. I like washing, drying, and even folding. I hate putting it up though.

OK, erection [ON] OFF

I was out of work for 6 months... it sucked. I could only do so much job applying a day.

I spent a lot more time at the gym. I was already a lifter and such, but I began to do things like swim, extra bodyweight training, walk long distances, and such. Not just for the health and fitness benefits but to get my mind off of the job hunt. I also got to spend a lot more time with my family and my young nieces/nephews

What I don't get is the deadbeats who choose to life such a lifestyle. I go to Wal Mart here and there are just homeless people and loiterers who just seem to set up shop and loiter/camp around the Wal Mart. Same with train/bus stations. You have deadbeats who just hang around train/bus stations all day. I saw that in downtown Dallas every day.

Once you've done the yard "right" for the summer it is all about maintaining. So after this week I'll have more free time to go to movies, WWII Museum, Zoo, casino, out to eat, etc

That’s a pretty pretentious statement. A lot of people earn a living doing honorable and noble work at Lowe’s. It’s a real job to them.

Did you attend any networking events? When I was unemployed I went to quite a few of them but none of them lead anywhere.

Has anyone noticed that OP suggested that homeless people sit at home yet?

If I could afford to, I'd stay home every day. Watch TV. Nap. Eat. Nap. Make zero decisions. No deep thoughts. Give zero fricks. Sounds like Utopia.

I know a few guys who own rental properties and this is what they do all day. Mix in a few rounds of golf per week and a handful of trips a year.

I’ve been unemployed since March. Just got a job offer today but still don’t start for another 2 weeks. I took this time to workout, A LOT. It’s paid huge dividends.

And he's right because home is wherever you hang your hat. And homeless people in general do have hats. Or at least caps.

If you hang your hat under the overpass at night, guess what? That's your home.

The people i know who own rental properties typically have a day job, and the ‘landlording’ is their side gig.. these are folks who have a portfolio of maybe 3 or 4 rentals, up to maybe 10 or 12 units.

In order to make real money, and be able to live an ok lifestyle, save for retirement (just in case real estate takes a nosedive), i’d think you’d need to own a lot more properties than that. Do your friends have super-low overhead ?
