Man, I’m sorry to hear that. It’s good that you struggle with the medicine use and are aware of that. Not that I want you to struggle, of course. I completely understand how you feel about not wanting to be a burden, but please also grant yourself some grace in your situation. I hope you don’t mind if I pray for you and your situation.

My Dad's buddy was dating my Mom's sister, and set them up. The friend ended up marrying my aunt, and he was my godfather. Their marriage did not last, but my parents were married for 50 years before cancer took my Dad.

Blind date in college. My mom was at ole miss and dad was at Mississippi state. My moms best friend who went to state set them up. My mom came home from the date and told her best friend that was the man she wanted to marry

The rest is history. My mom passed away last year and that friend that set them up was by her side as well as my father.

Now I’m sad

My dad was living next door to my married mother in a very poor area in Alabama. West Blockton. Her husband was beating her arse in the yard and he “saved” her.

He found out later why she was getting her arse beat. She was a psychopath whore.

That’s a good children’s book.

My mom and dad lived on the same street in Crowley. My mom grew up there and my dad had just moved from Lawtell. They met at Frosto. My mom had a boyfriend but basically fell in love with my dad at first sight. My mom got pregnant not long after, they got married and she had my brother at 16.

Mom was a redneck from central La. Dad lived by Montpelier as a kid, then his family moved between Pierre part and Napoleonville when he was in Elementary school.

They met in college, were married just past 60 years when dad died. Mom lived another 2.5 years.

I'm an orphan now.

My parents were from literally opposite sides of the state (dad grew up almost within eyesight of the MS River and mom grew up almost within sight of the Sabine River).

They met at LaTech which is kinda close to meeting literally in the middle. Mutual friends at a gathering is how they met.

They met back in 1972. My dad worked at McLeod’s , the big purple building on Airline. My mom worked at Gulf States electric. GS had a program where employees could buy appliances and get them payroll deducted. My mom and dad were taking every day on the phone but had never met. They eventually met for a date and were married 4 months later. They were married for 38 years until he passed away.
