My guess is to clearly mark it as a construction site for liability reasons, but I could be wrong.
ETA: For dirt retention during earthwork, makes sense.

What’s the purpose of that felt boundary at construction sites? I often see them but don’t see the purpose. Just marking the outer boundary of the upcoming structure?
Well, there's silt fencing and then sometimes there's this straw/mesh stuff to keep mud and dirt down. Usually just to keep site cleaner and reduce hazards

She touches the plastic fence and they think that is worth reshowing?
Shows she is too incompetent to drive that large of a van on top of showing how careless she is

She needs to back up. There was a garbage can that survived!

It was like Otto from The Simpsons doing his driving test and making sure he hit every cone.

Erosion control.

But yeah the fence and grass stuff was petty.
This is a new home with freshly laid grass. Keep your f-ing vehicle off the grass. Pretty simple. The whole point of showing each error in the video is to give a complete picture of the total disregard by the driver. This was just one home. Can you imagine her entire route?

I thought pointing out the grass was to show how far the goddamn van drifted when they jumped out without shifting to park.

Shenequa was too lazy to put the van in park while she dropped off the package?
She got 99 problems but lazy ain't one.

Amazon doesn't own the "last-mile" delivery vans in most states. They are franchises.
I don't think it's that cut and dry.
A lot of these last mile delivery services are operating out of Amazon facilities.
There is nuance to who is liable.

Good lord what a piece of trash. How can you not keep it on a drive way that wide. And then the package toss
Posted on 5/9/24 at 8:48 am to MardiGrasCajun
I don’t know about anyone else but Amazon in my area leaves the van on the street and walks the package to the door.
Using the driveway when it is a residential area and not some rural home with a 2 mile driveway is likely a no no in the employee handbook.

One from our neighborhood last week....

A little disappointed, I thought the garbage can or whatever that is by the street was going to be in play here.

One might also deduct from this and 1000 other videos and personal interactions that black Americans in particular do not score high in conscientiousness.
Shh. You’re not supposed to notice what you see with your own eyes in public and read in the newspaper every day in the crime blotter. If you notice a trend then you’re a racist.

My wife looked into signing up to operate one here in Lake Charles. There are nuances as you said but they want you to be a completely separate entity as much as possible. That being said, they will yank the contract out from under you quickly and incidents like in my OP could cost whoever she works for their whole contract.
