They didn’t test nearly as much and suppressed numbers on purpose?

They were doing drive thru testing and contact tracing before Trump even called it the flu.
Let’s try again

This is an easy one.
They don’t shove their elders into nursing homes.
They’re way healthier and less obesity.
Less population overall and less poverty.

Comparing the US as a whole to other countries is such a stupid talking point. You’d have to compete each of those to each of the 50 states to have a point
And the one that is an island.

They don’t have freedom?
They didn’t have governors forcing nursing homes to take Covid patients?
They’re physically healthier on average?
Both countries population combined is about half the United States?

Actually, Japan never had a lockdown. The governments in Japan have no authority to impose such things as lockdowns.
They basically just ran a really strong “marketing campaign” which strongly encouraged people to follow safety guidelines to stop the spread of the virus. The people listened, and it worked.

You are correct that there was never a lockdown. However, there was a several week period where people were asked to greatly limit their activities and such. Most restaurants closed, as well as entertainment venues. The only places open were fast food, convenience stores, and grocery stores for the most part. Most people did.
Inter-prefectural travel was very limited also.
Japan has done pretty good I think but it's not perfect. Tokyo saw a decent spike last week.
Yeah, welcome to Japan. People follow the rules because, better or worse, society expects conformity.

Correct. That’s what I said in the post above.

They haven't beat it.
Also, New York has 4 times the population of Louisiana and is only testing 30k a day.

My son has lived there for 4 yrs, in the 4th largest city. He says that the govt.has basically stopped testing & that the only numbers that matter are the number of deaths. Which has remained stable. If deaths spike, testing will start up again. And remember, a lot of Japan, Tokyo in particular, has been wearing masks for yrs, to combat pollution. As a result, mask wearing is no big deal there. He also said the same thing that has been noted here: as a whole, Japanese are 1000 times healthier & obese people are the oddity, not the norm.

They breed fewer fatties. Less heart disease.
The culture also does not embrace nursing homes as much as here. So elderly people live with their kids.
In this country 42% of all all COVID deaths are nursing home deaths. Japan and S Korea avoided that with a cultural difference.
Other countries might also not be listing every death as a COVID death just because the person tested positive. They might have more truth in their diagnosis than here. Methodology matters.

How do you explain Australia then? Australia is a fairly diverse country with a ton of immigration yet their Coronavirus rates is among the lowest in the world.
