You’re asking a bunch of Louisianians and Texans why people can’t drive in the snow?

It's a game of expectations. Wanton displays of competence would cost us our snow days. What happened to you as a child to make you into this soulless beast?

Back in the day when I work construction, I worked in Okla City in January. I was driving a brand new 1999 Dodge Neon (front wheel drive).

We had an ice storm one night. It took me over an hour to get to work (~15 miles), but I was passing OT baws in their F-250's and GMC 2500's, littered all over the road.

These rednecks thought since they had 2500's and F-250's, they could do the speed limit in an ice storm.

I passed them in my POS Neon, doing 25 mph, getting to work safely.

I was caught in a mid October blizzard in southern Minnesota about 30 years ago. I had never even seen snow before that, and there I was trapped on I-35 South skidding on ice in white out conditions. It was terrifying, but I learned real quick how to drive in the snow that day.

Snow? shite every time it rains the ditches off I-10 fill up with water and pickup trucks. I mean it only rains 200 days a year down here, its almost like people would be used to it or something.

Because people underestimate the conditions of the road and overestimate their driving skill / vehicle.

Go slow, don’t accelerate quickly and barely tap the brakes when it’s time to slow down. It’s really not that hard.

I just put chains on my Raptor’s tires and I’m good to go.

People who struggle to drive their Corollas and Hyundai Sonatas in the snow are poor.

An inch of wet snow is more difficult to drive in than several inches of snow. Unless it's powder.

How come some women can't drive at all on asphalt or concrete?

Driving in snow takes practice. It's mostly being patient and feel.
