Call a roofer and have him get on the roof and look...if they are from your roof, you’ll want an estimate to fix anyway.

I can't believe the most obvious solution hasn't been mentioned:

You're going to need to find you about six Latino fellows.

That's right... contact the busiest guy so he can waste his time doing something my 68 year old mom could do. If they're from his roof he's gonna want a tarp, because roofers are backlogged af rn.

do people not have a few stacks of shingles for repairs? I'm missing 2. Will go up tomorrow and fix them. Not hard to do. 12/12 pitch too

Normally I leave whatever is left in an opened bundle, that still clearly states the color. I often encourage folks to keep an additional unopened bundle as well... just in case. Pretty 50/50 on people keeping the extra unopened bundle.

Your insurance company will ask for a DNA test so don’t get them involved unless you’re sure.

Tried asking his roof if it was missing anything but it just ignored him. Roofs are known assholes.

Keep watching your ceiling from inside your home for about 6 months and be sure you look closely. If you see yellowing spots appear or better yet, if you see actual drops falling from the ceiling during a rainstorm they are probably yours.
Or you can simply ask your parents and they will know what to do. Now run along and do your homework.
