That's your loss
We went there(BC/Alberta) last July to see my mom's lifelong best friend and her husband and we didn't want to leave. The beauty is just indescribable.

Calm down, Nancy. It won’t last long…

TOKYO, Feb 3 (Reuters) - China's yuan slumped to a record low in offshore trading on Monday, while Mexico's peso and Canada's dollar tumbled to multi-year troughs after U.S. President Donald Trump slapped the countries with tariffs, triggering fears of an escalating trade war.
The U.S. dollar's gain was broad, with the euro also dropping to a more than two-year low and the Swiss franc - despite typically acting as a safe haven - sliding to the weakest since May.

Do you boycott the import, and only pay for the domestic product, or do you pay and support the demand for the import so that your country can collect the tariff revenue?
You buy whatever you need when you need it, because the tariffs are a negotiation tactic that likely won't be in place long with Canada and Mexico. It's not going to materially affect your finances by year's end.
As an example of T$'s hardball negotiation method, see Panama's announcement today that they would be backing out of their agreements with China after a visit from SecState Rubio.
With Chinese goods, this may be longer term and it is what has been needed for a while. Even Biden kept most of Trump's original tariffs on the Chinese and went and raised some of them.

Canada and Mexico’s economies need the US far more than the US needs them.

China's factories are already slowing down production. This is at a time when they absolutely cannot afford it.
Canada's economists are saying it will send them into a recession.
The dollar is already up against most foreign currencies. The Dow is down for tomorrow's futures. The Hang Seng is down. The Nikkei is down. Gold is down. He may use all of this to have all cars sold in the US made here.
He has their nuts in a vise.

His previous tariffs are still in place how many years later?

I just hope they don’t put tariffs on French and Italian wine.

Experts say the best way to support your county is to call NedReyerson a fig.

Define this please?
Its actually pretty simple unless of course you are a WalMart heir or a toady for that class. It is a wage which allows a person to live in an area reasonably close to their place of employment AND provides enough income in 40 hours a week to make their monthly nut with NO subsidy of any kind from taxpayers....subsidies in the form of subsidized house, medical care, transportation, child care etc.. Why sooooo many people are willing to defend billionaires who fully expect their defenders to subsidize their production costs through taxation.
There ain't no free lunch and there are only 4 ways people can acquire the income needed to live - labor, crime, the dole or some combination of the 3. There ain't no alternatives. Its far better that they make their nut through labor and their employer manage THEIR costs and revenue without any assistance of any sort from taxpayers. Supporting low wage employers because one likes the idea of punishing those who do not have the skills, education or desire to do better is insane because it ignores the premise that their ain't no free lunch....someone has to pay the fricking bills.

People and their “boycotts” are hilarious. Like they’re taking a big stand against the big corporations.

Got my own timber and mill
You have a kiln capable of holding internal temperature of softwoods at 180 degrees Fahrenheit for a minimum of 48 hours to set the pitch and exterminate any vermin and their eggs / dormant larvae (hardwoods also need to be exterminated but pitch is not as big an issue)? Does that kiln have the ability to get the moisture content down to 18-20%? Finally, do you produce enough timber and lumber with your mill to pay the $2000 or so a month plus $300 or so per day during grading to have your lumber and timbers grade stamped? If the answer to any one of those questions is no unless you are among about 4% of the population in the US who lives in an area which will allow un-graded lumber to be used in construction projects for structural members you have a resource which is almost useless.
I have a mill. I have a solar kiln and I can air dry SYP up to about 2X6s in about 3-4 months simply air drying them. 4X4s and above take about 5-6 months to air dry. That time is about half that in the solar kiln. The solar kiln will not set the pitch or kill insects / larvae. The price of structural softwood grade stamped lumber currently is about $.80 a board foot. That is about $4 for a 8 foot 2x4. There is NO way I nor any sawyer can make any money at $.80 a foot and almost no market for rough cut lumber if it were possible. A 25% tariff may make that about $1 a foot. Still not possible for most small sawyers to turn a profit at that price, especially given that their product is virtually useless as a building material (it is perfectly fine logistically but local building codes make it almost useless).
I can make a little money on hardwoods when I get them for free or for the price of a tree cutters lunch but beyond that it is hard to make a mill pay for itself.

You seem angry in your posts.
A thing to keep in mind is that not all jobs need to pay a livable wage and not all workers need to make a livable wage.
