They declined and are still pouting about it.
So, they come to you, with nothing but the clothes on their backs. You offer to give them an awesome SUV.
Did you explain that you had made some turrible decisions in life, but had learned from them and occasionally look back with regret and that they will look back on turning their nose up at a Sequoia and kick themselves?

I recently paid cash for one.

One of my family recently got a Honda Pilot and loves it. I would suspect it was less expensive than a Tahoe, so you might take a look at it.
Don’t bet on it. I just went on the website and built a pilot - $60,450.
Make more money is the answer. The rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer. Be in the first group.

She easily drives the least nice car of any of the doctors in her practice, and many of the nurses drive nicer ones than her. Heck, half the nurses in my office drive newer and nicer cars than I do, too.
There’s a whole long and boring chapter about this exact phenomenon in the book “Millionaire Next Door”. High income earners in certain fields (like the medical field) are more likely to drive expensive cars because it’s part of the image or expectation among their peers.

Wife needs a van. You need a truck.

You must have added every option and accessories available. I can buy a 2025 Trail sport for 47K. That’s AWD with a Panoramic sunroof. Only thing it doesn’t have that the elite has is AC front seats.

Just get the minivan already. Worked out for me years ago; bought my wife a Honda Odyssey back and now she can't see driving anything else. You think you have alot of room in the large SUVs, but in all in all you really don't. People who say otherwise have what I call a phobia, or fear of the minivan. Gotta get past that shite or pay a second mortgage on a new vehicle

I remember when a house note was around $1000 a month.
You are young.
My parents' house note was $235 (including insurance and taxes) in a neighborhood with CPA's, LA Supreme Court Justice across the street, and engineers.

Minivan has more room than a suburban. Highly underrated vehicles

My wife and I are both doctors and can’t pull the trigger on a 3rd row SUV because I just can’t get over the price.
This is a prime example of how greedy the automobile industry has become. You are two people who could easily afford the note but you refuse to buy because of the ridiculously inflated price. Good for both of you!
I drive a 6 year old truck with 170k miles on it. Those new cars need to rot sitting on the dealership lot until they are forced to stop with these insane prices

I’ve never spent more than $20k on a vehicle and make $400k+/year

A friend who lived in luxury hotels his adult life (he died at 90) with part ownership in oil wells around the world, drove a several year old Buick. He also had an old Nokia cell phone from early 2000's.
An uncle who had property all around Beaumont, 3 plastics plants, always bought year old used cars, Suburbans for him and Jags for his wife. He also has exotic animals just because he wanted too. Llama, ostrich, peacock, axis deer, etc... just wandering around his yard.

Her MLM LLC writes off the note. Trade it in a couple yrs down the road when the taxman starts asking when the LLC is going to make any money.

Just so you know, you are a well known liar on this site. So you can stop with shite like this. Nobody believes it.

I’m looking at SxSs right now and Polaris has one for $50k.
Obviously that’s not what I’m looking to buy but it’s not just car prices that are getting well out of hand.

Because they don't have a pot to piss in elsewhere. Their financial priorities are out of whack and their savings are very minimal. Living in the moment rules their lives, unfortunately for them.
