It's really not that expensive to fly. If you're only paying for yourself you can fly plenty of routes for a couple hundred bucks round trip.

I think a lot of them schedule in advance and take the cheap sales.
I've noticed on body cam videos when they are denied flying for what ever reason most of them don't have enough money to for another ticket. Or even a hotel. Saw one today where a Lakeisha was late so they wouldn't let her board. Of course she causes a scene to the point they give her a full refund. But since she only had $200 to her name and the refund would take a couple of business days, she decided she would rather go to jail.

Don’t fly the flights with crazy connections and don’t fly the 6:00am (bc you want to save 20 bucks) flight. A few bucks more is better

I’ve thought about self insuring. The risk isn’t worth it to me if you have substantial assets. You are willing to take the risk and that’s your choice. Things can happen though and lawyers will be up your arse to get some of that 2.5M.
If I was poor, damn right I wouldn’t pay for insurance. Can’t squeeze blood out of a turnip. But you are a ripe juicy peach.

I had a similar experience a couple of years ago while pumping gas. A lady pulls up in a decked out Tahoe and then asked for gas money.
