<——Not above chilling in a B&N whilst awaiting some family member at a nearby store.

Won’t just go there on my own.

Probably once or twice a year.

Don’t do the Starbucks though. Just don’t care to.

I miss the old Barnes and Noble experience

And the books a million before that

Would find a book or two

Would listen to a bunch of albums there

It had zero chance of surviving in this day and age like a lot of things I loved liked malls and arcades

The new one at Town Center is a depressing echo of what I loved

They sell physical stuff. Books, cds, movies, vinyl.

People like to own things instead of having everything via subscription.

I could stay in that godamn store all day. I go see a movie at Perkins Rowe once a week when I’m off and I he there early just to browse through Barnes for awhile. I end up buying 2-3 books that I know I’m not going to get to anytime soon because I’m still trying to finish the ones I bought the last trip

I love going to B&N. Love to get ideas for books to read and look through vinyls.

Until Barnes & Noble gives me the ability to download the files for all of the books I bought as e-books in the past so I can convert and load them to other devices they can eat a dick and fricking die in a fire.

Let’s talk about how Americans trust print and information they can hold in their hands over anything on the Internet… especially with the rise of AI

The predominant smell of books and coffee reminds me of the book fair when I was a kid.
Good memories of those scratch and sniff stickers.

Everything being online and delivered is bad for people and society. I support this.

I go once or twice a year. I admit to less now that I have kindle unlimited.

I appreciate an actual book but a kindle lets my wife or I read in bed without disturbing the other.

We probably go through 50-75+books a year between the two of us.

There are some nights where I’m reading the Prince/Federalist Papers and look over her shoulder and she’s reading some regency romance or vice versa she’s reading a legit great novel and I’m reading something dumb like Dungeon Crawler Carl.

(ETA: I love Dungeon Crawler Carl, don’t get me wrong.

It’s basically a laxative going in there Something about the binding agents they use and the smell of the paper and ink Can’t explain it

It’s called the Mariko Aoki phenomenon, which is the sudden urge to defecate that is felt upon entering bookstores or browsing aisles. I get that feeling whenever I enter CVS. Really weird.

I once peed all over the back shelf at a Waldenbooks in a mall. I’d never do that at Barnes and Noble.
