If I can, I find the item on Amazon and then order via the seller/manufacturer's own website - if they have one.

This is crazy that this popped up tonight bc I just had an item that was delivered yesterday that had clearly been returned to Amazon at some point. Only reason I realized it was bc I had ordered two of the same item. One had been taped closed and had a large Amazon sticker on it which I thought was strange. I opened the new item first and everything was in it, just as ordered. When I opened the second box, it has been taped closed and they had taped the plastic closed which covered the item inside. There was no charger either, it had been removed. I immediately started the return process but left a message in the comments that they needed to do a better job of checking their returns before turning around and shipping them right back out.

I stopped selling on Amazon for this very reason. I was selling tools and people would use the tool for their one-off project then return it for a full refund.

For over a year here, Amazon's deliveries were total chaos and there was a wrong item delivered almost daily to my girlfriend. Every time they just said keep it.

Bags of food from Whole Foods. Air Fryers, tools etc . . .

Amazon is just a really disturbing business model.

Bro is so nervous because he took the clot shot. Now he can’t sleep at night thinking this is his last day on earth while never forgiving himself because he trusted his lord and savior, lord government.

The absolute mind frick of cognitive dissonance must be the gold standards of mental gymnastics.

So, he spends his nights lashing out against other internet posters.

Must be rough for you. I hope not as rough on your heart tissue.

My wife is one of those people who thinks returns are just this magical no-downside, no-loss operation. She'll buy 12 dresses off Amazon with the idea that she'll keep the 1 or 2 she likes. I try to explain the wastefulness of this and I might as well be trying to explain calculus to toddler.

I think a lot of e commerce sellers went to Amazon because of the customer base and cheap fees. Now the fees are increasing and the service is not like how it used to be, as Amazon prioritizes its customers than its e commerce partners.

Heck. I cancelled my Prime Subscription because I realized I was paying more for the subscription than the savings on shipping. And most of my orders were taking 2-3 days. Walmart is much better for in stock items and sometimes can be delivered same day.

Amazon’s problem is that it is trying to diversify into several fields using its e commerce as a draw while it tries to dazzle the sports and entertainment field with its money and power.

Most older folks will remember a store that did this by the name of Sears. Amazon is still early in its building cycle and one day when its growth stops, it will start divesting itself from unprofitable ventures and selling off profitable divisions for quick cash.

I've shopped less and less from Amazon. It's cheap Chinese shite, and even the supposed good stuff gets bucketed with the cheap Chinese shite.

Same here. It’s a pain to find things, even if you know exactly what it is, wading through cheap promoted crap.

I was just thinking how awesome Amazons return policy is and if there’s an issue I never have a hassle.

Surely the scammers will ruin this. They ruined LL Bean too and now I have to pay to have mg shoes repaired.
