How all of this Covid stuff would have gone over 40 or 50 years ago.

Try and imagine social distancing and huddling in your house with your family for weeks and months on end with no internet, no cell phones or social media, or game systems, and 3 TV channels to pick from with nothing but soap operas and game shows on all day. Such would your life have been 40 or 50 years ago and prior.

You can only clean the house, cut the yard, change the oil, clean the car, read so many books, and organize things so many times before you just run out of stuff to do and want to attempt jamming your fingers into your eye sockets and scrambling your brains for something to do.

I am convinced that we would have rebelled a long long time ago. We may have lasted a week or so, but there’s simply no way we could have done that for months on end, and even if we could have transferred our work calls to our home number in an attempt to operate from home, all we could do is answer phone calls. The economy would have completely collapsed.

So, while it is said that technology has made our lives easier, might it also be said that technology has enabled every bit of this as well?

with exponentially fewer "essential" fast food restaurants people living in food deserts would have likely starved.

How much bigger would your pecker be if you didn’t weigh 400 lbs?

Like a fart in the wind. The same way the Asian viruses did in the 60’s and 70’s

No way people would have stayed inside back then unless they were in the big cities.

50 years ago nobody would have had lockdowns for Covid-19. It’s just not that deadly, and the people it kills are almost all near death anyway.

Adults would read books. Kids would play outside. Human sacrifice. Cats and dogs living together. Oh, the humanity!

50 years ago there was a fraction of the fat people that exist. Would’ve only affected the elderly

See, outside of the flu, I wasn’t even aware of viruses back then, but then we didn’t have 24 hour news telling us all the shite we need to fret over all day long either. It’s amazing I made it through it. We just got the flu, and then we got over the flu.

The media would not have had the power to affect policy. We might have bombed China 40 years ago when they gave us this gift that keeps giving.

This!

I only know a few people who have actually stayed home and have not continued visiting their family, friends, and favorite restaurants and businesses. Out of those few people, only one friend is still scared of life.

I think people would have coped just fine relatively speaking -- people were mentally tougher back then. It's only the last 15-20 years that people see wifi internet, endless streaming services, gaming, abundance of food choices, entertainment, and endless traveling have become almost a "right," as opposed to a luxury.

H1n1 was actually killing college students in 2009.

Not one kegger or football game was missed.
