And even if you did, WGAF? When I'm flying I want to be comfortable dammit. I'm not gonna throw on some business casual just to impress the geriatrics that happen to be on my flight.
I will admit that the only time I ever wear cargo shorts is on a flight. I can't stand having a wallet in my back pocket for that long while sitting.

Well, partly. Most blame goes to the EEOC.
As to the OP’s pic, if you still want to meet that FA hop an international flight with us. I’m sure she’s still working. I flew with a ‘68 hire not too long ago.

Because you're an adult. You ought to dress like it.
How about you dress how you'd like and let other adults dress how they like? I swear, this place turns into Queer Eye for the Straight Guy sometimes.

I don't mind if people want to be comfortable, but I remember as a kid being nicely dressed on flights.
The same can be said about cruise ships. Particularly at dinner.

This hits it on the nose about a lot of things in modern society. Everyone is buried in their cell phone, wearing crappy clothes and generally not giving two shits about the people around them. The world would be a much nicer place if we all tried to be respectful of those to our left and right. The way you dress and act in public is the first step in that direction.
Some of the biggest dickheads I've ever met were people in suits, so I don't really think it has anything to do with being respectful. Perhaps not jumping to judgement immediately about a person based on how they dressed would be a good start, though.

lol at all of the poors who think they spend $300 on a flight and deserve to be treated like royalty.

I miss the days where people didn’t wear pajamas and jorts on the fricking plane.
Half the people on the OT wear jorts. And not ironic hipster jorts. Like the I-don't-know-any-better jorts

This is the OT, you should be flying your private jet by now.

Wearing casual clothing in public in no way suggests a lack of respect.

Would you wear casual clothing to court? And if you did, how do you think the judge would react?
By the same measure, would you dress casually for church?
You’re putting your comfort above all other concerns.

I wear I-know-better jorts. The nuthugger kind, too. It maximizes the attention.

I wear jeans or shorts and a tshirt when I fly, is that formal enough? And for the people who do dress even fruther down, why should they dress like it? You shoudl dress for comfort. I'm not getting treated any differently by wearing shorts and a tshirt opposed to slacks and a button down. I've paid my fare, I have my seat assignment, I know my boarding zone...there is no way I"m getting better or worse service based on my dress.
And once again, this primarily boils down to people not wanting to be grossed out by fat and ugly people. I'm convinced of that.

To each his own. Pros of Southwest are that it is cheap. Cons of Southwest are numerous in my experience, not the least of which is frequently cancelled/delayed flights.
90% of my travel is for business, and I tend to be scheduled pretty tight, so I stick with Delta, pay a bit more, and generally keep my schedule intact.

I fly a wholeeeee lot for work and frick anybody who thinks i need to dress better than homeless to ride in an airborne stock trailer. Unless its a day trip, im dressing for max comfort and i dont care whos with me.
Only exception is if im going on a private plane. Ill dress up for that because im not treated like livestock for that.

No.
Yes.
You're putting your concern of other people's wardrobes way too high.

The Golden Age of aviation, when sex was safe and flying was not.

Pretty sure everyone was going in raw in the 70’s
Posted on 4/3/18 at 3:33 pm to Reservoir dawg
Id gladly take that trade. Give me a lil danger in the air for a more pleasent experience and id be far cooler with frequent flying.
