Old Nash Roberts was the GOAT.

It's not from a river or bayou overflowing. Just too much rain at one time. The house has only flooded one time and it wasn't the 2016 flood either, it was just a stalled storm - kind of like Marksville or Simmsport had a couple of days ago.

NWS data is wrong alot here in swla. It a joke. You can sit and click refresh on the weather site and it will just randomly change ??

Maybe look at changing which model they use. Just a thought.
Maybe stations need to pay more for expertise than purchasing expensive exclusive models like the GRAF.
All Nash Robert’s needed was a magnetic board and a dry erase board.
Some times it is better to trust a gut feeling than a computer or AI model.

Weatherman is obsolete in the age of cell phone internet.
Dr. Eachus is not a Dr. Of meteorology. Although one would assume, which is the point for clicks.
He has a PhD in geology. So maybe he should focus on rocks.
In regards to WAFB, Dr. Steve Caparotta holds a Ph.D. in Geography. Again, not meteorology. He should draw maps. All for clicks.
OMG this weather station has a Dr. for a weatherman! Quick, we need a Dr. too!!

Seems to me you may be clueless. The two key words that weathermen use are PREDICTION and FORECAST. Neither of which claim to be fact or a certainty. Their opinion is based on data provided by outside reputable sources coupled with their knowledge of local weather patterns. You as well as many other posters to this thread should apply for their jobs should they ever leave.

Most are clueless, the 2016 flood in Baton Rouge area they all missed the catastrophic flooding.
No they didn't. Most people were clueless because they didn't realize that the flooding included them because they never had to worry about flooding.
There were sand bags at the Fire Station on Perkins Road near Southdowns. The public was warned this would be significant. They just chose to ignore the warnings.

What channel do you "forecast" or "predict" the weather?
Posted on 6/21/26 at 8:27 am to LSURoss
I dont find it bad at all. Between NWS and NOAH forecasts you can get information good enough to make decisions. Get the high level scoop from the forecast and the live info from the nws radar and youre good to go.
I cant remever the last time I paid attention to any weatherman who wasnt on a real company's payroll.

Well, I have a coin (that i can flip) and know some jokes, so I'm pretty much qualified.

One thing that made Nash special was that he really wasn’t on the payroll of the TV stations that he worked at. He operated as an independent contractor so he wouldn’t be swayed by what the consultants were telling the TV stations he worked at. He also was able to keep his own private forecasting business in which he advised several oilfield companies on evacuating workers.

WAFB9 I think years ago, Paul Gates
The Paul Gates on the weekend crew was fun TV to watch. The new folks seem to start on the weekends. Usually some gaff during the show that would get a raised eyebrow, a shrug or just laughter from everyone. Probably wearing shorts bottom half and suit top half.

Yea, I dont see how its difficult at all. I also dont understand why everyone doesnt just read the NWS forecast in the morning and look at the NWS radar throughout the day. Weatherman is obsolete in the age of cell phone internet.
Absolutely, 100%. How multiple different “weather persons” that all forecast for the same area manage to come up with different forecasts when they ALL get their weather data from the same place is disturbing. I don’t even watch “weather caster” weather forecasts ever, at all. I can just look at NWS data for myself and decide what the weather is doing from there.
