The Houston-proud Pappas Restaurants group has announced it is permanently closing five of its locations in Houston as the effects of the coronavirus pandemic continue to take its toll on local restaurants.

The closing of even 1 Pappadeaux’s or Pappacita’s diminishes us all.

I get that. I would be curious to see a listing of recent Houston-area restaurant closings. Many of the smaller, "Mom and Pop" type restaurants will likely be forced to close as well.

BLM will gladly repurpose these as George Floyd memorials.

Excuse to close lower performing locations without backlash or real business necessity? I would be curious to know. I hope it’s the first one. If not, this will be really bad for smaller, less well-funded operations.

Pappadeaux in Atlanta was always a must stop. Hit the one near the Braves new park and then a Braves game last time in ATL. Great day.

Those are huge restaurants. I don’t know how they can pay the bills on just takeout.

Which one is the BBQ one? Worst BBQ I’ve ever had. The sauce they put on it was gritty. Not suitable for donation to the dog pound.

Not sure how many restaurants they have around town but it’s a lot. Like someone mentioned earlier this is a good opportunity to close underperforming locations.
