I used to be in the "victimless crime" camp.
Then, I watch the street hookers around the train areas in SW downtown Shreveport. You can see their pimps driving by, watching them. They are sad junkies.

Legalization would allow there to be laws protecting the workers. See Amsterdam and other countries. There is also quality control regarding safety of customers.
It removes the pimps from the equation because it is no longer a black market product and has full protection from the law.
Currently, hookers have no one to go to.

Many prostitutes started off the exact same way this girl did. Many are groomed and/or handpicked by predators and even bought or sold between pimps and are underage. The end result is still the same and with no way out...i.e. just like the "sex trade."
There are some that obviously choose to be escorts and all strictly for monetary purposes but to sit here and act like every hooker aspired to be a hooker is beyond ridiculous.

I agree with this part fully, its nowhere near the problem he had, but when I had my road bike stolen recently, no it wasnt a $200/bike, it was very very expensive, I had to go get it back myself dealing with the thief. The cops called me 5 months later and the investigator said she was just getting to the case and wanted more info from me. LOL if I didnt have the guys info from him working under my building in 5 months my bike would have been long gone.
