re: Houston-area college student from TxState goes missing after accident on way home

Just noticed the TV news video on the story. Less than an hour after the Waze app last showed the kid driving into Luling, a volunteer fireman came came across the wrecked car up against a tree. The way the rear end of the car is all jacked up as well and back window is gone, maybe looks like the kid had to climb out thru the trunk, which would explain the clothes everywhere?

The cops fricked this up royally. They towed the car and left without searching for the driver, even though the car's lights were still on. They confiscated the kids backpack, but they did not even know the kids cellphone was in the car until the dad found it at the impound lot the next morning. The area of the wreck wasn't even an investigation scene.

I'm thinking the kid was hurt in the wreck, possible head injury, walked away from the car to get help, and drowned in one of the ponds surrounding the area on a 30 degree night.

Damn its pathetic that I actually looked up the weather from that night and even more so that I looked up the search area on google earth. I do take comfort in knowing none of this is as fricking lame as the news story headline stating that the kid had a "backpack full of narcotics" and a sentence later quotes it was "couple of joints"
