I haven’t figured out what to do with these, and the plant is three years old. I just freeze them when I harvest. I gave some to local chef last year, hope they didn’t try to eat them.

Tabasco Scorpion sauce is hot as hell. And awesome.

quote:

While regular Tabasco peppers clock in at 2,500 to 5,000 Scoville Units, a scorpion pepper can run up to roughly 2 million, giving it the status of the world's second-hottest pepper

No clue where it rated but I ate a pepper when staying in Chiang Mai, Thailand that was so hot it almost made me cry. The mouth pain was insane but the indigestion was almost unbearable. Much much hotter than habeneros or anything I’ve tried in South America

A few Habanero's over the years.

Never made a habit of it.

Nor will I...

Had a mature Hungarian Wax Pepper (~15,000) that someone had mistakenly grown thinking it was a banana pepper.

My mouth and tongue were numb for almost 15 minutes.

Habaneros, minus seeds, at least have some flavor, but anything above that has no reason to exist beyond pure retarded stupidity.

Habanero. Which is awful, obviously, to eat whole and raw, but I love the flavor of habaneros when cooking any number of things and just use the amount of seeds/membrane I add as a volume control on how hot I want whatever I'm making to turn out. They have a wonderful fruity and smoky flavor to them....not really at all similar but kind of reminds me of a mezcal tequila.

I've had most of the peppers on that list, but the hottest was the Carolina reaper.

I went to a place in Missouri City once called Mario's. Was a pizza/wings place. I love pretty spicy hot food, especially wings. The hottest they had were called "Mario Hot." So that's what I ordered. Mistakes were made. It was a ghost pepper sauce that was apparently fairly concentrated. When they brought the plate and my eyes started watering just from the steam coming off of them I thought "Maybe I fricked up." I managed to eat a single wing before ordering something else.

A few years later my friend came over after going to some other place in Texas. I don't know what the place was but he brought some wings he got from there. I peeled off a piece of one and ate it. This same guy was with us when we were at Mario's. I was instantly wishing I had one of those ghost pepper wings just to cool my mouth off. It took a few hours to regain feeling of my mouth. It was a Carolina Reaper sauce on those. Never again.

I do kind of collect random wild arse hot sauces anytime I see them, and they are good for adding a few drops to certain foods, but holy shite, eating that type of stuff straight up is just insane. And I can eat multiple jalepenos straight up and be just fine.

I did the Buffalo Wild Wings challenge in under 3 minutes. Whatever that was was as hot as I ever had! I had no sense of taste for 30 minutes.

Carolina reaper.

It was like what I imagine licking white hot steel would be like.

I've had Ghost peppers many times but anything above Habenero ruins the taste and experience to me.

Anyone who eats a pure capsaicin will lose everything from the waist down permanently.
