Hot take: If you cause a wreck on the interstate your license should be revoked

Possibly even face jail time.
It is the most simple form of driving. A straight road way with no stop lights, intersections, roundabouts, etc.
Being responsible for a wreck in these conditions is proof that you are an idiot and have no business operating a motor vehicle
ETA: Same applies for freeways like the Causeway

If you cause a wreck on a bridge, it should be legal for the people stuck behind you to push you and your vehicle off said bridge.

People poking along in the fast lane should be banned from driving on the interstate for 1 year. 12 months on back roads should get their minds right, and keep their dumb arse to the right.

How is that an incentive to get insurance? You'll get your $4k shitbox impounded, there is still $50k worth of damage to whatever you hit, and you'll just go buy another $4k shitbox at El Tri at 38% interest. Still cheaper than not having insurance.

This is the law or it was, but I have been involved (either as a party to or witness) of 4 wrecks where the person at fault had no insurance - yet vehicle was not impounded.
One had 5 kids under 9 years old zero seatbelts or car seats no ticket
